01.fake japanese ; 02. ayu's squeaky voice VS ayu's mature voice

I got 2 threads combined together..please share :

01.Do you guys love ayu in "fake-japanese" style?
Somehow i thought a fake japanese style is a modern japanese kimono combined with stylish outfits n moderen ones (is it?)
so...the image like what she used in ayu-mi-x IV
do you guys love it?
i think it's better thatn the new FX-9 style rite???
also...i raelly hope ayu's "HEAVEN" style would be a 'kimono-ish' or fake japanese style
i also ever thought that the ordinary "I am.." cover idea (before WTC 9/11)
is a 'fake japanese' style cover. but ayu changed that (she ever said)

02.I know some of you guys here love ayu's "past voice"which is a bit squeaky...why so?
why most of you said ayu's mature voice is "bad"? is that bcoz of her vibrato?
i really prefer her nice mature voice currently

1. yea i love both..cept in the Non-Stop Mega Mix, her hair just looked like crap X_x I thought it was a very awsome modern twist, i wonder if she designed them...

2.ayu's past voice...in A Song for XX sometimes got annoying and so undeveloped...I do think 'poker face' was sang well it's one of my faavorite Ayu songs
then into LOVEppears is got better, other that her scary songs in A Song for XX, I love her old voice...now with HONEY..that's just trying too hard >>;

her vibrato is definately unique..., i've never heard anyone with one like hers which is another reason to <3 Ayu even more!

Her mature voice is cool but sometimes I think she overdoes it with too much vibrato >_< other than that, it's pretty powerful and expressive =D I like the way she sounds in M, not too much of overdone vibrato ^__^

1) i REALLY like the Ayu-mi-x 4 look. That was very creative, i thought.

2) Well..back then she sounded young..and now she sounds kinda old and that is partly because of her vibrato..and maybe even her smoking.

1. Ew no, the cover with her in the red, her legs look so tiny compared to her body!

2. What's vibrato?

01. I really love it! Both ayu-mi-x IV and acoustic covers were just incredible. Really nice. The LUMIX FX-9 style is awesome too.

02. I like both voice. Her mature voice is softer. Her past voice was much more powerful to me.

Mature: walking proud
Past: M, Dearest, Who...

Which one has better vocals? Those from her past. I love both though.

vibrato...to break it down simply...[but a bit far from the meaning..] it's when she makes her voice go up and down, especially on those long notes, like in forgiveness for example.

i hope that helped :bow

vibrato is kind of how you vibrate your voice so it sounded like this :

for that "forgiveness" part :

"mamoru tame datta"

she would vibrate sth like :

"mamoru tame datta.a.a.a.a..."

that's what n how i can explain coz i kind of having a nice vibrato also

OMG, i would SO like to have a vibrato like Ayu does... at least a half or 1/4th of it... maybe i can learn it, at least a bit, if i take singing classes

in "forgiveness" she also sings "ai wo" and "nani ka wo" parts with vibrato. it's great!

yea, if you sing along to Ayu, your vibrato will definately improve. i think..X_x...either that or else it would just be more solid and you'd have more control over it...because mine's more developed now..

Ohh so that's what it is! I love Forgivenes especially when she gets to the chorus!!

Is it true that one of her vocal chords broke/bursted when she was recording "Kanariya"?

01. the style in ayu-mi-x 4 was pretty cool! . except the makeup was kind of overdone..it looked scary. T_T. i prefer the outfit she wore for her MTV awards performance (forgot which year, but she sang M). does that count as "fake japanese"? it's a red top and black jeans or something...oh well it looked nice

02. i always thought her old voice was much...smoother? maybe "plain" is a better word ><. over the years its gotten coarser (if that's a word -__-). but i think the way its developed is a good thing...her old songs had a lot of synthesizer/keyboard use, so the soft-ish voice and the synthesizer went together well. now that her voice is coarser, it matches alot of the guitar use in her recent songs.

01. yeah, i always liked that style. i remember some pics like that from east west magazine too, at least i think that is what it was called, and also that performance of moments at the super dry. i think its a nice look, but i wouldn't want her to do it all the time. i really like it though when they contrast that old japanese look against a modern look.

02. i like her "mature" voice more, and i really love her vibrato. i know a lot of people say she over does it, but i think its great. thats why i liked the rainbow album, she used more vibrato on that that she uses now. i think her voice has improved over time, and also deepened, i much prefer it to her older higher voice, even though she still goes quite high now.

01.I love the Japanese style that Ayu did, it looked so great ^__^ the make=up that was used was great, i loved both covers, they looked really great in my opinion.

02. I really like her older voice, i also love Ayu's recent voice, but i think i do prefer Ayu's older songs altogether, whether it's got something to do with her voice i dont know, i just do.
The thing is, i once heard her sing a song.. um was it on that idol show, and she was singing.. errgh what was the song called..."Get out of my life" was that the title? I dont know if it ois or not, that was in the song anyway XD, and she didn't squeek then... so i dont know if the older Ayu voice was.. put on? I dont know, she just didn't squeek at all, when singing this.. i dont know how old she was though O__o

1.When it's kimono. I LOVE it. fake-japanese as you call it...I'd say modern japanese, east meets west...When it's Ayu. I ADORE it.

2.Let's say, I'm not very picky. I love both. and I'm sick of the complaining.

1. Yes, I love the 'fake Japanese' style! It looked really cool for the covers.

Nanami - It's actually Ayumi who started calling it "fake Japanese"

2. Ayumi's voice is better now only because she's learned to control her voice and she doesn't sing from her throat anymore. I also think she's a smoker, so her voice has a deeper quality now.

re: vibrato. Ayumi's vibrato isn't a natural vibrato, she uses her lips to make the "wavy" sound. I find it annoying, actually, and wish she wouldn't overdo it like she does live.

Type in 'smoking' into the search and you'll find threads. It's been a long standing debate whether she does or doesnt.
