Hmm........ I wouldn't reccomend Vietnamese songs..... They are too country-ish. But if you find anything feel free to listen to it.

Being born in the US, I'm more accustomed to the music here, but my nationality is Spanish, so although I don't listen to these guys, I know my dad likes Enrique Inglesias and Marc Anthony.

Well as far as music from the U.S., I recommend Dream Theater. They are my favorite band and are by far five of the most talented musicians on the planet.

I could recommend a lot of Swedish and Finnish bands that I like. But I am most likely the only metal fan here. But in the event that I am not, check out Opeth.

Oh yes...there are also Belgian techno songs, french or whatever...they're really good too!! hahaha...you can easily go to this site and choose whatever artist sounds good to you and listen to some snippets of some of their songs at the bottom of the page ~

I really like Lasgo, Kate Ryan, and Milk Inc.
I am pretty sure all of the songs are in English, but Kate Ryan sings some french as well...hehe

catatonia has a few songs in welsh (well one that i can think of off of the top of my head) and i think they are pretty good

heres some of my favorite artists from around the world:
england-basement jaxx, aphex twin
australia-ben lee, gerling
scotland-bis
japan- kahimi karie (sings in french), kana p
US- Moby, Ben Kweller, cibo matto
iceland-bjork
canada-spookey ruben, bran van 3000, richie hawtin
france-daft punk

theres probably a lot more but those are a few off of the top of my head.

Norwegian acts that are known outside Norway (most of them underground I'd guess)(I'll suggest some songs if I can think of any) and some that are not :

a-ha
(classics: "Take on me", "The sun always shine on TV", "Move to Memphis", "Crying in the rain", "Cry wolf", "Hunting high and low"...more current songs: "Lifelines", "Minor Earth, major sky", "Summer moved on", "Velvet")
Lene Marlin
("Unforgiveable sinner", "Sitting down here")
Apoptygma Berzerk
("Kathy's song (Come lie next to me)", "Til the end of the world", "Suffer in silence")
Röyksopp
("Remind me", "Poor Leno", "So easy", "Eple", "Sparks", "64-position")
Bel Canto
("Shimmering, warm & bright", "Spider dust")
Frost
("Clouds across the moon", "Running boy", "Endless love")
Alanïa
("L'eglise (Deuxieme partie)", "Round II")
Volcano
("More to love", "That's the way love is")
Kings of Convenience
("I don't know what I can save you from)"
Ralph Myerz & the Jack Herren Band
("Nikita", "Nikita retake")
Annie
("Greatest hit")
Mari Boine
("Gula gula", "Gulan du")
Espen Lind
("When Susannah cries", "Yum yum gimme some", "Black Sunday")
Madrugada
("Majesty")
Maria Arredondo
("Can let go", "Just a little heartache")
Maria Mena
("Free", "Lullaby")
Erlend Øye
("Ghost trains")
Anneli Drecker
("Tundra", "Sexy love")
folk&røvere
("Dust")
Kyd & Kango
("Baldakan", "This is the time")
Malin
("Kinky people", "La serenissima")
Zuma
("Bowie tapes", "Life in the city", "Pearl", "Tram")
the Tuesdays
("It's up to you")
Diva
("Stand & deliver", "The sun always shine on TV")
the Trucks
("It's just porn, mum") (2 of 4 members are Norwegian I think)
Dario G:
("Dream to me", "Heaven is closer (Feels like Heaven)" (Norwegian singer/lyricist)

Others I can't remember any tunes by at the moment:
Motorpsycho
Nils Petter Molvær
Biosphere
the Kovenant
Dimmu Borgir
Satyricon
Zeromancer
Bjørn Torske
Those Norwegians
Noa
StarGate (also big name producers, worked with and/or remixed names like Blue, S Club (7), Samantha Mumba, Hear'Say, Mary J. Blige, Shola Ama, Fierce, Mariah Carey)
Sissel
Ugress

And finally an act that is popular in Japan - the girl who sings in it is Norwegian:
Solid Base

These should all represent the good and bad sides of Norwegian music pretty well

Yuck, I'm really not a fan of Catatonia. It's just something about Cerys Mathews voice that I just can't stand
