Anyone want Ayu to take a break?

I really want Ayumi to take a break, because if you think about it, she really hasn't had one since I'd say..early 2003, and that wasn't even a proper one, because A BALLADS was still released. I wouldn't mind if she didn't release another single until August/September. I think she needs more inspiration, more time for herself, to think about where she wants to go. It seems like she's just been trying to satisfy every fan of every genre, which unfortunately doesn't turn out too well. Hopefully, we'll get one fully composed single this year. But I'm not counting on it. I hate to say it, but it seems her songs are always more amazing when she's maybe..depressed, or feels strongly about something (ie, alterna, which was amazing) I also don't want another December album, (miss) understood seemed extremely rushed. I would love an early summer album, or even an early fall album. It would be such a refreshing change. What are your opinions on this?

-How are you sure ayu doesn't take breaks?
-How are you sure that if she indeed takes a break, that it will make her music any better?
-Maybe it should be more like her composers and arrangers need a break? They do constantly get changed though.
-She didn't take any break for "I am...", the album that is considered one of her best.

I agree with ImpactBreaker. We don't know if Ayu takes breaks or not. I hope that she doesn't need to, though, because we all know what happens to Jpop queens once they take breaks. I mean look at what happened to Amuro and Hikaru. They're totally washed up now. I really don't want that to happen to Ayu. I want her to stay an Icon, though I don't think that anything can really change that. But I think a break could really damage her sales.

I want Ayu to take a break because she deserves some Ayu-time, some major Ayu-time. She works so hard (year after year, it's non-stop!) and her fans do not even appreciate her new stuff. She might as well take this time to relax, sleep and take a good trip to Canada and meet me, haha!

It would be cool if she stopped until June. Maybe a massive summer hit?

^ thats basically what I meant. Just some time for herself. Some time to think, and produce a really big hit. I'm not talking about a year or two break, just maybe a 4-5 month break, just by herself, where she doesn't have to worry about her career. If something inspires her, then its her choice to pick up the pen and start writing.

Why can't it be the other way around? Maybe you people aren't satisfied with her latest works because she's been actually taking too much breaks and relaxing? After all, all those trips to Hawaii and going shopping in New York are SO extremely exhausting, aren't they?

Ayu being Ayu, she wouldn't want to take a break anyway because she's just so immersed in her work now. It seems as though she constantly has thoughts that she has to pen down.

And no, I don't think she needs a break now. She still looks happy doing her stuff now, so everything's cool for her now.

who knows? ayu might actually have a 2 weeks break and she might already flew off to hawaii or something. she can't possible announce she's going on break, all those paparazzi will tail her!

well i think if Ayu takes a break, i doubt she could come back with a big hit becuse she's tried all different styles, none of them are working and if she takes a break she'll probably strt fading away

atm she is just sustaining her popularity and that's relli good

Japanease releases are sooo strange for the ones that are adapted to the "traditional" way of marketing... She releases a single in march and the album with that song comes only at the end of the year O_o' and we know that most artists release their first single along with the album (most times, of course that exceptions exist).. Her breaks are probably between one single and another.

But I think she should take a one-year break, don't really know if it's possible in the japanease market though. I don't know it very well to say =/

We have no idea what Ayu does in the time between singles / albums / concerts. I believe that most of us probably speculate that she's working on her album or working on a concert. But I remember an interview or something where she spoke of having to rush things because she left things until the last minute [lol]. Perhaps she always takes breaks between releases, but we don't know about it. What exactly constitutes a break anyway? Not releasing anything? If so, she's had them for a while!

Only thing that concerns me is her high amount of concerts for her ARENA TOUR.. x.x

Who knows? Maybe she does get some time off here and there. As for a long vacation, she'll get to it when she's ready.

Although in my opinion her songs haven't gotten worse, she should just take some time off for herself.

I think that she should release a couple of more remix albums, perhaps this autumn, perhpas she could do some gimmick, one cheaper mini-remix album a week for a month, first for the songs of Memorial address, then MY STORY, (miss) understood and finally BEST remix album with (not previously released) remixes of the best songs off those three albums including her newest releases like startin' and Born To Be... and teens.

This christmas she could release a "christmas remake" album, kind of like MY STORY Classical or A BALLADS for the same albums mentioned above, perhaps including a new november single or something like that. If so, she could've waited till spring releasing a new studio album.

I don't know if she needs a break, but if she does, then she should keep it. Couple of months or something. But if she doesn't need a break, then, no. I just hope she doesn't burn herself out. But it's true, that she's been working really hard, releasing albums and couple of months later new singles, and what does she get? People are just complaining, nothing is enough for them. (Well, I don't mean _all_ but some people). I'm really proud of her, she works really hard and she does just amazing stuff and just keeps doing it.
