Why all the hate for Ayu lately?

Maybe I wouldn't exactly call it hate, but it seems everyone is critisizing Ayu lately! How can you be a fan and critisize her? Plus, I just don't get it. A lot of people are saying that her songs are getting "boring" or "losing their touch" while I think that they are just as great as ever! I think Ayu is really improving in her career and I feel dissapointed because a lot of Ayu fans are losing faith in her.

we all have different opinions, and criticizing Ayu is alright for an Ayu-fan I believe. I personally believe she's still great, but there will always be people who think differently.

Ayu has fans, and it's okay for them to be disappointed in her material once in a while. People need to stop insisting that because they're her fans, every single little thing about Ayu is great. ..it's not all the time.

It's not because of their opinions that I'm dissapointed. It's because as if one thing is wrong with her and then all of a sudden everything's wrong with her. I had gone on a forum a while back [can't quite remember when, but it was a while] and one of the fans said she stopped liking Ayu because she was becoming too "commercalized [sp?]" and her music started becoming "crap".

I dunno, human nature I guess. Sure, I think it's a little unreasonable to stop listening to her after not liking one song she released recently, and I think every artist is equally commercialized, but I guess everyone just has their own opinions

No human on earth has the ability to please everyone, and Ayu's no exception.

I think it´s because of the sudden change of her music since Fairyland, her music style just changed. But I still love her music =)

People are never going to be satisfied with everything an artist does, as someone said, it's human nature. I prefer a place where people have healthy opinions on an artist, otherwise it ends up being a completely obsessive place. One artist forum I used to post at, the 'support' has become really out of control and people there are just so obsessive - it's reached a point where people can't say "I don't really like that, so I'm not going to buy it" without being accused outright of trying to 'control the artist' and trying to tell him what music he should and shouldn't make. These people have entered a new realm, beyond the worst fanbrat - you're not allowed to say anything negative, not even constructive criticism, without being accused of not being a real fan. It's just really creepy, being expected to support the artist with everything, even stuff you don't like. I'm glad there are other places where there's a more healthy attitude in fans.

We can't be happy with everything she does. We're human beings and we're fickle. Some people here just prefer her classics more than whatever she's producing now.

It's one of the downfalls of being super mainstream and been keepin' at if for years and years. There's only so much one person can do (who's worked so hard to keep their title) to be loved by completely everyone anymore.

But you gotta give her kudos for being able to keep the support of people like us throughout her career.

i dun like people criticizing her...because she's trying so hard in her music career that she didn't even get enough rest~she does all that is all for the sake of "making her fans happy"..and that's just my opinion~

ehh I think the problem is people don't wanna face that she is a J-POP artist. She's not in J-ROCK. Everybody's been wanting a AyuROCK song lately and she hasn't given it because...SHE ISN'T A J-ROCK ARTIST.

The truth is, J-pop music is changing it's style since most of us here first got into it. I remember back when Namie was the queen of J-pop everything out that was popular was all dance-music. Today, J-pop artists are experimenting with new sounds to prevent that (repeatative sounding stuff) and well I'm glad that they are trying.

Perhaps all the hate is based off of that...who knows; only they would know.

Who made you the lord of all Ayu fans? Or even this forum, for that matter? Hate to break it to you, but people have different opinions, and unfortunately for folks like you, they are FREE to express them as they see fit. Don't like it? Maybe you should rethink your own views, because no one is going to change for you.

Frankly, I think fans who criticize Ayu from time to time are more rational and legitimate. Nobody is going to pay attention to a fan who's always like, "Ayu is the best! She has no faults!" People are just going to think you're obsessed and not take you or Ayu very seriously. Somehow I don't think Ayu wants her fans being blindly following her around like dogs--she already has dogs, for goodness sakes! The people who give honest feedback in any situation are the most valuable and helpful. Look at your own experiences and you will probably agree.

Even worse than people who criticize too much are the people who think they have the right to tell others how to be "good fans".

I personally think some of the GEO songs are better than alot of her other things

as in the economic theory says
that TASTE is the most important factor of Demand and also the hardest to measure because everyone has different TASTE.
eg, I mite not like Bold & Delicious... there will be lots of others that like Bold & Delicious.
And also, in economy it says that Total Satisfaction that we get out of a particular good (in this case Ayu's songs) will decrease as time goes on. The extra satisfaction that we gained from the time when we dont know ayu was increasing (this is during 1999-2002) and then it diminishes coz it reaches the Satiation point and then start to decrease (The Marginal Utility) hohoho im such a nerd
