Beginning of a collection

Hello,

I am a new fan of Ayu, I have known her for 3 or 4 years but I started watching DVD since only 1 year. Today I am in Japan and I have been to the Arena Tour 2006 since then I became a fan

I already had most of her songs(few singles missed) but now I want to start a collection since I am in Japan. (in Europa, it is hard to get her CD unless we buy via Internet, I don'tl ike this way)

First, I bought the Blue Bird single (06.21.06) and today I bought 2 DVD (Ayumi Hamasaki, Stadium Tour 2002)
In the first one, there are comments for each songs (old ones), video clips and CM.

In fact, I hesitated to buy "MY STORY Classical" CD, I don't have the album on my hard disk, is it good ? I really like MY STORY album. (but I did not have enough money lol)

I've got My Story classical and I think it's pretty good, but I like My Story better ^^

haha. MY STORY CD + DVD is good. but i dont think the classical version is good. =x

Wow I did not know about CD+DVD, does the DVD contain all the video clip ? I have to check if the price is OK.

I think I will first buy DVD (concert and video clips) after I will take care of the singles missing and albums at the end.

Yes, it has all the clip w/ making clips except for Humming, About You, and walking proud.

And classical is very good

Then you should also buy Dome Tour 2001 and/or COMPLETE CLIP BOX (But I think the complete box is like 10,000 yen or something) But I would definitely recommend Dome Tour 2001 DVD.

^ Ditto..I heard My Story is probably one of the best concerts Ayu has performed.

How long are you staying in Japan? Just curious.

I intend to buy Arena Tour 2005, I love MY STORY, so I also want the CD/DVD ! Maybe I would need more money, about the complete box, I saw it but too expensive : around 9900 yens.

I am staying until the 7th august but I will be back in January until June

I know I am lucky that's why I want to enjoy !!

I have been to department store, I guess there are more specialized place for JPOP, can someone advise me (around Shinjuku) I heard of Harajuku but I don't know well the place.

if you wanna know more about ayumi in a brief time...don't buy all the classical versions...it's time now for you to get to know the original ones at first

um...save soney for the coming DVD of ARENA TOUR 2006 -- I'm sure that it will be an extremely nice tour live dvd

I already know all songs of Ayumi, I have most of the singles/albums in my harddisk. Now I have the possibility to buy real CD/DVD so maybe I will buy MY STORY Classical. I have so many things to buy, I don't know which should I first choose, and I have also limited money.

I don't know if I should buy DOME TOUR 2001, it is really good but I already have it (VOB in two 4.7 DVD) but I anslo want the real one if you know what I mean

About ARENA TOUR 2006, I have been to the concert, it was really great but I stil prefer the MY STORY album, I guess I will buy the previous ARENA TOUR first.

imo, I think you should wait in buying the remixes until near the end.

meh.. Dome Tour is highly overrated imo.. I bought it thinking it would be the best thing EVER and it was just like.. meh.. the effects werent even that great and some of the costumes were ugly.. and there was hardly a good interaction with the audience.. plus there are so many slow songs omg.. I wanted to fall asleep.. I think AT2005 is MUCH better!

When I watched Dome Tour, I thought it was pretty good. I am OK with slow songs. I loved the costume for vogue (is it ?) with chinese dress, it was beautiful.

Well since I don't listen to Ayu remixes (since I'm not a fan of remixes themselves), I don't think it would be fair. BUT, imo, I would just save all the remix-album buying until the near end. Since I think you said you wanted to give priority to the DVDs first, buy all her non-CDL tours 1st. But since you got her Stadium Tour 2002, I would say buy her AT's 2003-2004/2005/2006 (TBR)/A MUSUEM first; then work backwards from Stadium Tour. After that, I guess you could buy her CDL's, then albums, then singles/remix albums. Of course, this is what I would do, you might have different preferences etc.

I guess the reason why the Dome Tour is such a big deal to some people is that it was her 1st large-scale performance (like 50,000+) and it has most of the songs from A BEST + some others from I am...

but if you do wanna buy a cdl dvd, buy 2004-2005. it ish teh awesomest!!!

but yea, at 2005 was great, too. i have my story and my story classical. classical is basically the acoustic orchestra version, if you didn't know. the originals were better, but if you do get classical, i suggest you listen to a song is born. the track is BEAUTIFUL!
