What do y`all think about...

Ayu having some concerts in america? I think that`d be cool. All she has to do is get a translator. A person who knows both Japanese and english and she`ll be set. If Ayu ever does come to america, even if it`s not a concert, I hope she comes to philly. If not, maybe NY again. Definetly somewhere close to Philly. If it`s an important event, maybe I can go and see her.

Like many of us thought, It'd be nice for her to hold concerts in America but none of see this happening any time soon, or ever happening in her career.

not everone in the world can get used to the Japanese language. Or Korean, or chinese, or any other language. Spanish on the other hand is just one of those language where it's ... appealing to people. I learned French for 10 years straight and I still can't get used to it. I can't speak it, I don't understand it.

spanish music gets a lot of play because in the biggest states in the U.S. (California, Texas, Florida) all have extremely large Hispanic populations and close to Mexico/Carribean, so there is already an established fan base there, and when these songs are hot in L.A. and Miami they get pushed throughout the whole country as cool songs.

Well that's my theory at least.

Ayu and America...there's always been a weird feeling in my chest when the thought came up. I feel protective of our little Ayu...

I think a lot of Americans are real picky about not being able to understand lyrics while listening. One of my friends is like omg can't even understand the lyrics, the lyrics are like the whole song...when it comes to foreign music.

LOL. Same here. But I just thought it`d be nice if Ayu had an american concert someday. I mean I don`t want her to start making American songs or anything. It`d just be easier for her american fans who don`t have the money to travel all the way to tokyo, and then buy concert tickets.

^Right. Avex is probably right in thinking that there isn't a fan base big enough in America for Ayu to actually perform in the US. The language barrier automatically turns off tons of people, and they decide they don't like Ayu's music just because she sings in a different language. It's really too bad because they're totally missing out.

Micster's response basically sums it up. This has been discussed many times over in various threads here (sometimes even in threads that are about other artists). Ayumi made it known that she's not interested in going outside the Asian market. As far as investments go (because of her entourage and concert spectacles), it is in her and Avex's best interest not to venture out to the western market.
