Retro/ Oldies Songs

Hi jus curious if anyone is into retro/oldies songs(those songs that belonged to the 60s/70s/80s era) ?? Personally i dun like them it kinda make mi feels old. There wasnt much melody back then and usually sounds quite dull. Maybe only micheal jackson back then was appealing to mi.. it sounded 'new' although it was a 80s release.

Any thoughts guys?

I kinda disagree with you. The retro songs were awesome. I personally love stuff from the 80's. They don't make me feel old, but nostalgic instead. I really think the songs back then were very inspirational and catchy. This recent hip-hop craze sounds a lot more dull imo

I was an 80s kid, so Michael Jackson was it at the time. I grew up listening to him, along with the Beatles, swing, and early Motown. While some of the material may sound dated in certain ways these days, the actual music is some of the greatest ever created. MJ's Thriller album is still fresh to my ears. It's incredible.

I love 80's music, can't you tell?

I wouldn't exactly consider 80's oldies though.

I love oldies, retro, and 80's music.

The "dull" sound might be because they couldn't back in the day record as "clear" as they can know. I don't know it's that what you meant, though.

I absolutely love some older bands. The 80s, I like The Cars, Billy Idol, Elton John (and his stuff from the 70s), Madonna (dont like new stuff, like old), U2, REM, Phil Collins, The Police, Gordon Lightfoot, Melissa Etheridge, Bon Jovi and tons of random songs...

As for 70s I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, and I also love old Aerosmith. I like some Pink Floyd, and I love ABBA.

60s... I love The Beatles. The Beatles are just love. My mom was a Beatlemaniac and I was pretty much spoonfed them from an early age. I can listen to them for hours and not be able to stop singing along. If you want songs with melodies, there you go!

Everybody likes Michael Jackson at one time.
I still listen to 80's music like A-Ha, Michael Jackson, Bad Boys Blue, Modern Talking, etc.

That "Party All The Time" song by Eddie Murphy is catchy. I like that song.

Ca-Li-Fornia dreamin'... weeeeeeeeee, 60's Brady bunch style pop

Then there's all the Madonna, Bonnie Tyler ABBA stuff that's awesome.

Best night out where I live is Reflex. It's an 80's bar and the music is sooooooo cheesy and fun.

I love older music, my favourite decades are 50s, 60s and 80s (can't really stand anything from the 70s except ABBA, they're really the only group my parents liked that I like now). I went with someone to what's considered an 'oldies' concert in 2002, and the local people hired as security were looking at us like we had two heads or something - they had been told that as it was 'oldies' to expect the audience to be old. Haha, except there were lots of people of different ages attending.

omsc! 60s, 70s, and 80s! I grew up listening to that stuff along with classical thanks to my mother~ And much more interesting than the disgusting rap music that rules everything now.

Jackson, ABBA, Bon Jovi, Elton John. Others I can't remember. Ugh.

Rick Astley? xD

Ah. I need to go look on the other computer. Heh.
