(miss)understood Trivia

I actually had "discovered" this ever since I first listened to the album... and I just don't know why I've never talked about it lol.

Does anyone realize that in (miss)understood, the songs pass on a little of their instrumentals to the next song?

Bold & Delicious
-Weird sound that can be heard in STEP you's bridge just before the chorus repeats-
STEP you
-Definitely the beats and synths are brought over...-
Ladies Night
-Electric guitar-
is this LOVE?
-drums-
(miss)understood
-drums + guitars-
alterna
-strings-
In The Corner
-strings + drums-
tasking
-strings-
criminal
-more strings-
Pride
-piano-
Will
-piano-
HEAVEN
-piano/keyboard-
Are You Wake Up?
-synths/beats-
fairyland
-electric guitar-
Beautiful Day
-drums-
rainy day

Perhaps I'm crapping, but I'm also being very generic with words like "piano" & "strings". I'm not very good at describing these, so you actually need to listen to their album... and it's just the song sort of gets carried to the next seamlessly. It's beautifully cohesive , something which NEXT LEVEL lacks imo.

Like NEXT LEVEL - Disco-munication & rollin' - GREEN was just super weird, but that's not the point of this thread.

I think that's why I love this album so much. It flows ever so smoothly, possibly the best out of all of her albums.

Really? I think it has the worst flow of all her albums. It's the one thing (besides the covers) I don't like about it.

MY STORY had a good flow, but (miss)understood is still my favorite in terms of album flow.

I always personally thought Secret was the most cohesive album with the best flow, but (miss)understood came in a close second. It's easy to follow. RAINBOW was pretty easy to follow, too.

Yeah, I agree. MY STORY flows better becuase of its constant rock/pop and not so 'colorful'.

I feel as though MY STORY was so cohesive that some of the songs blended into each other up until the end where INSPIRE/HONEY and etc. came in, haha.

(miss)understood is cohesive enough to be called a cohesive and well-arranged [in terms of tracklist] album [not exactly sure why since in terms of genres, it's all over the damn place, haha] in my opinion, haha. I don't think that an album has to be 'easy to follow' to be cohesive, but rather.. it just has to fit together like some sort of musical puzzle-thing and (miss)understood does just that. The pieces all fit together!

[Perhaps people might disagree about songs like criminal and Beautiful Day but.. eh... haha]

^ I personally find criminal to be too depressive after an interlude like tasking (which sounded neutral in terms of mood), but Pride had that "epic ballad" sound too, so I think criminal fits after all. My fav. part of (miss)understood was from is this LOVE? to In The Corner. Flawless flow.

Also, I totally agree for MY STORY. Liar, HOPE or PAIN & HAPPY ENDING are like such a good trilogy... but it's also because of that that people overlook these songs... but MY STORY is really perfect for me! The songs just flow like water in a river~ lol

i've never noticed the instrumentals, but i'll surely go back and check. i always thought that (m)u was a jumble of so many different styles and didn't exactly fit together....

I actually think most of her albums flow pretty well. I kinda remember tho.. (not my opinion) when RAINBOW was released, most people found the album didn't flow well compared to I am.

Personally I think LOVEppears flows pretty well, probly because 80% of the albums are all about sync instru..

Here's another trivia about (miss)understood *well... mainly alterna*

alterna
- Single version, she sounds more clear. Album version, she sounds like she's stuck in plastic. T_T

Oh yeah... they did some to alterna in the album version. Can't remember exactly what they did tho. Was it that they made the beginning very blurry?

They made the "hey"s in alterna very plastic sounding in the album version.

to be honest, i thought that GUILTY and NEXT LEVEL have the worst flow of songs.

GUILTY for having too many interludes towards the end and NEXT LEVEL for pushing the 2 beautiful ballads right to the end.

Ayu's album's flow is always "fast" "slow" "fast", like an overture.
