Sowelu finds a new home with Rhythm Zone

26-year-old singer Sowelu has now signed with Avex's Rhythm Zone label. Last month, she left her agency Ken-on and her previous label DefSTAR Records, as her contract was set to expire on May 31.

Sowelu officially made the move on June 1, and her new website and blog opened new website and blog opened the same day. She greeted her fans again, saying she was happy to get a fresh start in a new environment. However, she has not yet announced any upcoming releases.

She looks pretty in her picture on site. Much better than her Material World look.

First May J. now Sowelu? Sony is losing their artists to Avex left and right.

I really hope Sowelu will be more successful @ avex, cus her recent BEST album sold a total of only a bit over 10k copies, which is not really good. :/

I'm sure she'll do much better on avex, and I hope her first single under the new label will be sometime in summer or fall.

I wonder what her music will sound like. Is it me or does it feel like Rhythm Zone artists don't release any more urban sounding music. I mean May J. was urban with Sony now she's like a pop artist I guess. And Tohoshinki started Urban but moved to pop same with Kumi.

I feel the same way also about Rhythm Zone and the artists don't have very urban sounding music nowadays.

I always thought Koda Kumi should be moved to the main avex label, since she is no longer fit in the mainly urban genre / category. There isn't even an urban song in her upcoming single, lol.

Anyways, back to Sowelu, I just hope she goes back to urban songs, like "Get Over", that song was just really good! *__* My favourite song of hers. I hope she can release a hot urban song with avex. ^^

Wow, I didn't know Avex had May J. now...Sony really is losing their artists to avex.

I'm SERIOUSLY praying for Yuna to make the switch.
