Newlywed J-Lo expecting baby: report

NEW YORK (AFP) - Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez is expecting a baby with new husband Grammy-winning salsa star Marc Anthony, it was reported.


Anthony, meanwhile, is refusing even to say whether the couple got married at the weekend at Lopez's Hollywood home.


A guest at the marriage told a source quoted by the New York Post that the curvaceous film star, who broke off her highly publicized engagement with film star Ben Affleck just a few months ago, was expecting.


Another friend confirmed that Lopez has been informing friends of her pregnancy, the New York tabloid said.


The marriage has so far only been reported by the US celebrity media.


Anthony refused to confirm it when he made an appearance on NBC's Today Show on Tuesday to sing one of his new songs.


"I see where you're going with this, and I'm going to preface it with just saying - y'all know I don't talk about my personal life," Anthony said.


The newlyweds, who are longtime friends, have a lot in common. Both are "Nuyoricans" born in modest circumstances in New York to parents from Puerto Rico. Both have worked in pop music (including a duet together) and film, and become multimillionaires.


Anthony, an old flame of Lopez, was granted a divorce in the Dominican Republic just last week from Puerto Rican former Miss Universe (news - web sites) Dayanara Torres. He has two children with Torres and another from an earlier relationship.


Lopez's marriage to backup dancer Cris Judd floundered just a few months after their September 2001 nuptials. Her first marriage, to Ojani Noa, ended in 1998.


In addition to her marriages, the Hollywood headliner is also veteran of at least a couple of high-profile relationships with powerful men in the entertainment industry.


J.Lo's 18-month-long on-again, off-again courtship with Affleck finally ended in January, after a cancelled September 2003 wedding and a movie together, "Gigli," which proved to be a critical and commercial bomb.


She also had an earlier, longterm relationship with rap mogul, fashion designer and actor Sean "Puffy" Combs, who now goes by the moniker P.Diddy.

Anyways, yea, they got married on Saturday. And someothing about one of her previous relationships ended on that Tuesday too. The baby is just a rumor. Nobody knows if it is true.
She had a wedding dress for her and Ben's marriage. It was custom made. but when that got called off, she never got to wear it. And for this wedding, it was so sporadic that she just grabbed some dress of the hook (it was by the same designer).

Anthony's divorce was finalized right before the wedding. They should have waited a little longer before getting married. If she is pregnant, a year from now every magazine will have JLo baby pics and 'motherhood changed my life' interviews. Madonna seems to be a good mom so I hope Jennifer will also be able to raise her kid well despite being famous. I fear, though, that the accessory comment above will sadly be more true.

I think she is.. well, I think something in wrong with her.

She's always WITH a guy, doesn't take a break from guys to focus on her career and other things. It looks like she's insecure if she NEEDS to be loved BY a guy constantly. Oh well, people are different, but it's just sad if the rumors are true.

As for the child, .. err, would J.Lo REALLY put her career on the line to have a child? Her career is really hot right now and I dont think she could settle for a child.. even though she does claim that she wants a child.

I wish her the luck with Marc. They were together.. and both are controlling it seems like.. he made his ex-wife not continue her career as a singer when he married her.
