Interesting/Unusual Packaging

So, I just saw this:

http://www.maniadb.com/album.asp?a=130791

Looks like the album was packaged in some kind of plastic bag with a liquid inside to complete the theme of "underwater". Wow!

Any unusual packaging methods you guys have seen?

DBSK - mirotic
lee Jung Hyun - Avaholic
Lee Hyori - Hyorish
DBSK - "O" Jung Ban Hap

Pretty much all Korean albums nowadays have interesting packaging. China does too. It's really cool but sometimes it can be a bit too much...just a regular cd case is nice That water one is amazing though

One of favorite packaging is Ami Suzuki's Don't Need to say Goodbye. She was one of the first artists to do the unusual packaging. I quickly took a few pics..

Spoiler:

the inside is housed in a clear plastic sleeve

then you open the inside kinda like a letter

and it turns into a giant heart the thing in the middle is like a single digi pack type thing that holds the disk

Hmm Gazettes DIM album was interesting. I have the DVD versions so I dunno if the regular CD one is the same. Behold! Haha I actually took a video for it. Laame. It's better than me failing at explaining it. xD

Also the cover and back cover of the lyrics booklet were actually a bumpy texture.

I guess it's the way to get people to buy the album and not download it.

off the top of my head, the only unusual packaging I know (that everyone knows) is kumi's 3 splash, one of the cds came in some weird pouch thing. and G-dragon's Heartbreaker is fronted with a positive cast of his face. like this

OMG.

I didn't know it looked like that! I'd only seen 2D versions of the cover and I wondered why it was so ugly. It's SO COOL like that though! haha I want it now.

@hearted Do you mind if I ask what's unusual about the way the DBSK albums you have are packaged? I plan on purchasing some soon-- so I'd like to know.

Do you see the box for G-Dragon's album on the bottom right of the picture? The box for MIROTIC looks like that. It has the cover at the bottom and the album/photobook behind. It's so gorgeous!

I think Kpop has really crossed the line of being just tacky tacky tacky. Honestly, if you need to release every CD with some kind of "cool" gimmick than the music itself probably isnt something that people would buy normally....I dunno....Kpop packaging seems a bit contrived to me

Well, I think that's really awesome. I love creative stuff like that! Definitely gives you more incentive to buy the physical copy rather than just download it.

The water thing is awesome!
And Avaholic also.
And I agree, it's a good way to make people buy your physical CD and not only to download it. I prefer good and creative packages.

The Korean industry is falling apart and piracy is insanely high, so I guess they need to have something special about their releases to make people buy them physically instead of downloading them for free instead.
