I really agree with the is this LOVE?/(miss)understood thing. Normally, that's the stuff I would love. But, there just seems to be something lacking in those performances. I don't know what it is.

I really hoped there would be more theatrical stuff...but there wasn't. I still blame the actual songs for this to happen.

I generally agree with your ranking too. My top three would have to be: Dome Tour 2001, MY STORY 2005, and A Museum.

...I don't recognize Zin at all. LOL Perhaps a different picture would help.

I sorta recognize Subaru (though I think they're all skinny guys with muscles LOL).

Argh...I'm sure who the guy wasn't...but I really don't know which one it really is. LOL

It's unfortunate that Mitsu isn't there anymore. I wonder why. No wonder I noticed a very unfamiliar face among the dancers (unless they didn't replace him and I'm just not recognizing the dancer).
Judging from the group picture from ViVi magazine, they haven't replaced him. I think the guy who I didn't recognize easily was Hide. Because he left for a while and danced for Namie Amuro's tour then came back looking... like he does now. LOL.

Yes, they're all skinny guys with muscles but Subaru is especially skinny.
Zin is the guy in the front on the left.

You know who I'm talking about when I say Naoto though, right? I'm hoping it's him in Rainy Day because he's my favorite and I love seeing him without having to look over all the dancers to spot him dancing.

...LOL

I think it's time I take out my Ayu DVD to study faces. I really have no idea what Naoto looks like.

There were a few solo dances...but I think the only main MAIN one was the "rainy day" one.

It seems like Shuya is not one of the main dancers. He's almost always on the side or in the back...but rarely right next to Ayu for a whole dance.

I love solo dances. You really notice their individual talent then. I'm a dancer myself, not like as a career or anything, but it's my passion. :]

Were the solo dances really cool? I envy you so much. By the time my parents let me go to Japan to see her concert, Ayu'll be 40! LOL.

If you were a girl, I'm sure Naoto would have caught your attention, lol. Seems to have caught a lot of people's on this forum.

Here's my effort of showing you who Naoto is.

I'll probably have to wait till the release to find out who the dancer is. =P You silly goose. I'm like psyched for the DVD. Even though I've heard it's not her best but still, I'm always happy to see Ayumi and the gang.

LOL
I'll see if I can find out if anyone from the Japanese fan sites knows.

Naoto...ok...he looks familiar now. LOL
Did he have any solo dances? (Or was he one of those whose names Ayu messed up?)

LOL
By watching them, even I wish I knew how to dance like that.

The solo dances...well...umm...I can only sorta remember the alterna ones and the Pride ones...which looked like interpretive dancing. (LOL)

The solo was...umm...well, not as memorable as the HAPPY ENDING one.

Thanks for the account of your experience going to Shizuoka and the detailed description of the concert!! I couldn't help reading the whole thing!! I'll be going to the April 2nd Yoyogi show. My seat is also very close to the stage (Arena A6 block seats 5-8). One question: being close to the stage yourself, did you have a good overall view of the concert? Was it too close? Thanks!

I don't know Yoyogi seating so how many rows away are you?

I was row 13 so I was far away enough but close enough also (especially being next to the center runway).

I see, I see. Cool. =]

Yes, I already mentioned he was in last year's CAROLS. Plus he was in GAME.

Interpretive dancing, what is that again? LOL. xD

The HAPPY ENDING dance was emotional, I liked it. :] What kind of dancing was Rainy Day?

Interpretive dancing is when they wiggle around while looking at the sky....LOL
well, no. (j/k)
But they were all dancing in their own way and they had a lot of sorrowful expressions on their faces.

The dance for rainy day was somewhat similar to HAPPY ENDING's actually. The dancer dances by himself again...as if he's looking or something...just like HE's. Only in this case, they do come together at the end for a happy ending. (no pun intended )

LOL. I thought you were serious for a minute. I was all... wiggle around? Hahaha. :]

Ooh, that sounds cool. When they dance their own way/style... that's always been my favorite. Sorrowful expressions. Me likey. LOL.

Nice. Sounds good to me. I still really hope it's Naoto. If it's Zin... that'd be awesome but a bit weird. He's always danced in a more... confident and tough way.

It rains on the stage. That'll be beautiful, I bet.

The rain was interesting.

When they hugged at the end, I thought it was so scandelous. LOL (OMG...Ayu is hugging a commoner. )

And they held on for many seconds while they waited to be lowered completely underground.

My favorite dance so far has got to be the male dancers' dance in the Startin' PV (which is similar to what they did in the concert).

I bet it was.

LOL. You're such a girl, haha, jk jk. Awww... don't call him a commoner.

How cute! I do hope it's Naoto! Not that I want them together or anything, that'd be WEIRD. She's good with the person she's with, lol. But Ayumi+Dancers= BFF

Oh yeah, that was an awesome dance. Did they do the Startin' dance from CDL, TV lives, or PV?

Shut up. You don't even know about my girly screams...I've already said too much. (j/k)

The Startin' dance...was like the one from Music Fighter...but also slightly different because it started off with members' individual solo dances. And I think some other parts are slightly different too. But generally, it's the same thing. For some reason though, seeing this song live was not as exciting as I thought it would be.

Hahaha! That's funny. Girly screams. >=]

I know what you mean, for some reason it isn't as exciting for me anymore. But it's still a good song with a cool dance.

What song did you like the best?

Err...I think...in the concert, the best one was...Born To Be... Just the way they turned the lights on...the energy that everyone had...etc etc....it was just perfect in so many ways. My heart still beats a beat faster when thinking about it. In fact, I've been repeating this song non-stop since then.

And, all the upbeat songs with some sort of audience participation were fun.

Glad to see that the alterna portion has been sorted out. I remember reading about the technical faults that occurred earlier on.

And I noticed that you actually spent quite a lot on transport. I guess Japan is really THAT expensive then.

Meh, I hope next year's one will be just as fantastic or even better, because I'm going!
