Anyone like to karaoke in LA?
I just went to Asahiya at Sawtelle Place looking for the Heaven single - didn't have any luck. But on my way back I decided, hey I'll try the karaoke place here.
It was my first time karaoking in Japanese and it was a lot of fun! Only it was kind of weird being in the room alone. Do any LA based Ayu fans ever meet up to sing karaoke together or anything like that?

Asahiya doesn't tend to get a lot of things the same day they come out in Japan either. You may want to try going to Kinokuniya in J-Town. They're usually pretty good about it. Edit: I just saw the "just." But I should probably answer the rest of the question as well. I was just in shock that someone else here knew of Yuu Yuu. I live in Orange County, but I visit some friends in LA every now and then. Karaoke at Yuu Yuu is always on the agenda. Last edited by Jonny; 15th September 2005 at 09:07 AM. |

![]() Also, Asahiya has gotten quicker lately it seems. They had the My Story tour the week it came out and they had Mika's Glamorous Sky single today - so I was like where the hells the Ayu? ![]() Next time you come into town, we need to put together a gathering of Ayu fans to go sing to our hearts content.

there's a place across the street from yuu yuu that's cheaper, but i don't think they have as many "real videos" there.
haha, just because someone's singing ayu doesn't necessarily mean they're a fan...esp since ayu has SO many songs. out of curiosity, which room did you go in? they have 3 different kinds...one that has english/japanese, one that has a LOT more japanese songs + random asian stuff (but no english songs) and a third kind that has...a little of everything i think [haha can u tell i go there a lot??] u_u

Hmm...a place that's cheaper than Yuu Yuu? I may have to check it out, but I think I'll stick to Yuu Yuu. I like their Happy Hour prices. Anytime from 1-8pm on the weekdays it's $3 per person per hour. And considering their selection, I'd say that that's a damn good deal.
I usually do System B though. That's like 26,000 Japanese songs, 3,400 Korean, 2,000 English, and 1,400 Chinese. Their new System C looks kinda interesting though. It seems to be rather well balanced, but still not enough jpop for me. My voice usually dies before I can sing all the songs I want to sing anyways. =p Karaoke Studio Yuu Yuu |

i havent been to it in a while but last i went it was called "peppermint" ...it's in the plaza with the CJ's (lol it might not even still be there!?) o_o but their happy hour was $3 for the room, instead of $3/person.
karaoke in ktown is cheap/fun too

Yeah, when I went it was only $2.50 cause I think I got there at like 7:15 pm and only sang till 8:00pm, when Happy Hour ended.
Since this was my first time, I'm not sure which kind of room I had for sure. At first though he led me to a room with only English songs and I asked him, "are the Japanese ones in this book too?" And he was like "Oh, you want Japanese?!" lol. I'm like yeah, I only used to live there. ^_^ So he brought me to a different room with all Japanese (I don't think I saw any Korean.) The selection seemed really vast though from what I got to look through so far. Also, I don't remember seeing another place across the street. Yuu Yuu seemed really good though. It had good sound. I'm thinking of going again tomorrow....great...now I'm going to become a karaoke addict.
