I have to agree here. He's an up-and-comer dating the biggest selling solo artist in Japanese history. Ayu is clearly in a position of power here, and I don't think this relationship is appropriate as long as he continues to work for her. I don't have any reservations about special treatment, but I do when it comes to the image fans and the media have of someone like Pei dating someone so high-profile. It smears their character, making them out to be a gold digger or a user.

He's waaay too young to be in this relationship. And Ayu should know better. And you guys should all know better too. It's no less risky or predatory when a woman dates a male subordinate than when a man dates a female subordinate. His entire career could be ruined by how Ayu handles things if they go sour. And I think it's clear, based on Ayu's two marriages, that she doesn't handle breakups and divorces very well at all.

Come on, Ayu, get out and meet someone with more financial and career independence. There are businessmen and investors and socialites and all sorts of other people with wealth and status all over that would be on more equal footing. Dating your employee is just ridiculous for someone in your position.

How old is he? If he is of legal age then I do not see what the problem is. Maybe if some ppl would judge her and her relationships a lot less, then maybe y'all would be as happy as Ayu too.

And I honestly don't think age is huge deal based on my experience... Swear to God, y'all ppl sometimes act as if this is a new thing... It's 2019 and not 1957. If Ayu was a man then I have feeling this won't be much of big deal for a lot of y'all. Let her do whatever (or whomever lol jk) she wants.

As for me, I'm just waiting for new music. Lol.

One of my extended family members is in a relationship with a huge age gap. They are 25 and their partner is 53. They've been together for a long time and the whole family approves of this relationship. I guess because of that I see no issue with Ayu dating someone in their 20s. We don't know the circumstances, I just hope it is all above board and doesn't turn into a fiasco like the whole Maro saga. I just want her to be happy in the end.

He's 20, but according to the rumours they started dating when he was 19, which is legally underage in Japan.

The age of consent for sex in Japan is 13, and for adults, it is 18. This means two people who are 13 or over can have sex with no legal repercussions, but anyone over 18 should also have a partner of 18 or over. The legal age for drinking is 20.
I'm just going to drop this in here if we're going to be discussing consent laws as a part of this. Given his young age when he joined the dance troupe, it is relevant.
