[2004] Plastic Surgery?

Alright guys my friends from Japan says two things about Ayumi.
1.) That she has had a couple of operations done to her face
2.) That she lies about her age on websites and is in fact 29.

I highly disbelieve the second one, but still have no validity. However, the first one got me thinking, because as much as I don't want to believe it plastic surgery is HUGE in Asian right now. It's not necessarily looked down upon, the women just want the more western look. I think that Ayu has looked the same ever since she was a little girl, but i don't know.

If anyone can give me hard evidence to disprove both of the "lies" I owuld be eternally grateful and could really defend Ayu when people say those things about her.

It's all opinion. There is no fact either way, and I could say over and over again how she can accomplish her looks with makeup and how she holds her face when pictures are taken, but well it dun work, since it's all opinion. Just remember that people who dun like her aren't going to compliment her.

Yeah, there are quite a few threads like this, but it is a good question. The truth is, most stars these days have had some kind of plastic surgery, whether fans want to believe it or not. I'm not saying all celebrities do, but yeah.

She doesn't look the same as she did when she was younger, but who does? She always didn't wear much makeup back then, and her hair changes a lot, and different hairstyles/lengths can always throw you off when looking at someone or comparing them to what they looked like a few years back.

My final point - who cares if she's had surgery or not? If you like her singing, her looks really shouldn't matter.

There will always be controversy over this. I've never heard the age rumor but I have heard someone say that Ayumi got liposuction, which is ridiculous since she's really skinny naturally. The age one wouldn't be too weird, though, there are a lot of celebs in Japan who don't reveal their real ages (or lie) and are darty about the subject *coughGacktcough*

I have my doubts about Ayu having eyelid surgery because she had them when she was a kid. Also, in the recent pics where she's not wearing make-up her eyes look very small and have dark rings under them. But you never know, I'll just give her the benefit of the doubt regarding cosmetic surgery.

well i think she probably had an operation in her teeth (compare her teeth now with the one in poker face pv etc) its maybe ... but i dunt care becauise she is still my ayuuuuu and she is still ayu the one we know well

I heard from a japanese that Ayu would have inject collagen in her eyes, and finnaly she completly changed her eyes in top secret. But it's only a rumour, but it thought it was funny ^^

I don't doubt Ayu's gotten surgeries done, but hey it's okay. If it makes her feel better about herself, good. But Ayu, being 29? I don't see why she would lie, 29 isn't old

Ayu has been famous for quite some time so, if she's lying about her age she'd have to have lied for many years. Why lie and say you're younger when you're already young?
About the teeth, her front six teeth have been adjusted somewhat, I can tell.

So, I don't care. But I really doubt it wouldn't have come up some time... She's made various references to the year of her birth, etc. So, if she's lying, she must have done a lot of research and coached herself not to make little mistakes. ^^

Anyway, she's cute anyway and if she's 29, who cares?

once u get to a certain age i dont care if u get surgery or not....but even IF ayu had had any, it would be VERY LIL if any at all, she still looks like ayu, not like she will do something drastic like MJ
and you know, imo i wouldnt care if she was 29 most stars these days are looking hot by the good ol age of 30 anyways

but there is no proof for any of these accusations anyways, and it will always be something to talk/think about till then ^.^

plastic surgery i am not sure if ayu has had it done or not, but i dont really think it matter because it up to her if she want to do it. anyway like it really matters because ayu is still ayu and has one of the best voice out there..
and about the age thing, i dont really think that she will lie about her age because being 25 is just 4 year from 29 it not like it a big difference in that.

I highly doubt both the things you talked about.

First of all, if she's really 29, I'm sure the media would go crazy over this fact. Plus it's not that easy to hide your age since somehow, even the most confidential information gets leak out sometime.

About the surgery, the media would go even more crazy on this fact if they do have ANY REAL evidence, the fact that they cannot find any evidence around this topic mean it's not a real fact that she has surgery. Think about it, if any newspaper got a hold of ayu's surgery info, that issue will be sold really well and who wouldn't want that profit. If this issue is talk about a lot, I'm sure the media has try searching for it and maybe it turns out she did not have surgery. Of course, they wouldn't make an issue in their magazine saying "Ayu did not have surgery." lol.
Second of all, most people who uses her old pics to compare use ayu's pic when she's like 15-18. People do change a lot in 7-9 years. And OBVIOUSLY, she'll look a lot better now because Avex wouldn't spend tens of thousands of dollars of make up on her if it doesn't make her a hell lot prettier. I'm sure almost every star you find will look a lot nicer when music company got a hold of them, not to mention Ayu is Avex biggest source of $, of course Avex would spend even more on her.

I think she did plastic surgery, it's hard to believe she didn't, but I can't be sure.

But, anyway, people in Japan think it is a fact that Ayu made plastic surgery, people will laugh at you if you say she don't.

The fact the media didn't found any information doesn't mean anything, actually, I really doubt a issue of a newspaper would sell saying that Ayu had plastic surgery. As I say, people in Japan have no doubt she had at least eyelid surgeries so if a newspaper say this people will be like 'mm... obviously'. Plus, plastic surgeons do have contracts with famous starts not to reveal what they did.

The age thing I highly doubt, asian pop stars simply don't start when they're 24, teens/early adult years are primetime for popstars in asia.

I've already said my piece about her eyelids in other threads but what ayu_ayu301 said caught my attention.

Did you know that Grover Cleveland had a cancerous tumor in his mouth removed secretly while he was on a boat while he was still president? Most people don't, news of it reached the masses only after his death, how it leaked is unknown, presumably family.

To quote the Hippocratic Oath directly, "What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about." Doctors are required to keep their patient's information private, unless of course they'd like a lawyer thrusting a burning lawsuit up their descending colon.

The media only catches wind of plastic surgery and snippets of gossip because someone within that celebrity's circle babbled. I don't know how it's going now, but back in 2000-2001 ish there was a thriving black market for any information that anyone with access/had seen Ayumi's wardrobe/had gotten any photos/prints of her newest single. Fashion labels and department stores would immediatly gobble up the news after the information was sold to the highest bidder to immediatly get the clothes, makeup & hair styles, accessories, you name it, onto their shelves just as the single came out to be met with enthusiastic fans with spending money.

Information on new songs & styles are easy tidbits for a tech to get their hands on, but medical information? I highly doubt it. That's something that only a few select people would know for sure.

I myself, made my own guesses and observations that she probably had plastic surgery on her eyes. That's my opinion though. Double-eyelid surgeries are incredibly common for asian women, before she did much modeling she had the 'sleep-eyed' look that many asian women hate about not having double eyelids. But I do believe she also made her eyes a bit more wide by having the bottom lid pulled down just a smidge. If you notice often her lower eyelid looks like a soft 'ku' (in katakana that is) rotated 90 degrees as opposed to just a smooth curve. But that's just me, take it with a grain of salt.
