Sing with instrumental?

for those of you karaokeers out there what do you do when you sing with ayumi's instrumentals?? its like literally impossible for me because her background voices in the instrumentals gets me out of tuen all the time, and i cant really tune out her voice. any tips from skilled singers?

I'm not skilled at all, but after trying out for the karaoke contest, I found that the slight vocals did help a bit. It's more like a guide than a hinderance, esp. to people like me who don't memorize all her songs

I sing Ayu karaoke all the time...I don't know...I kind of like the backup singing. XD Sometimes it's hard for me to meet Ayu's range, so I go with the harmony that the backup sings instead. (Dearest and Voyage, anyone?) Sometimes if you listen to how Ayu sings it first, then you can go back and try it on your own with the right notes if the backup really gives you problems. Sometimes this works for me.

*thumbs up* Keep working at it! Karaoke is fun. @.@

I use goldwave to combine my voice with the instrument, if I forget the keys and/or words then I can look them up at my Ayu sheet music. Ayu's background sounds more nice and helpful then a hinderance, although her voice is quite high for some of you guys, you can sing an octave lower.

Haha! Ayu karaoke...

Sometimes, on the rare occassions when I'm home alone, I dump all my homework and responsibilities no matter how busy I am, and I blast Ayu music through our karaoke machine, and I sing sing SING!!
It's so fun. And kinda loud. Our neighbor complained once. I turned red as an apple.
hehe.

I love to sing Ayu's instrumental versions. Singing is my life =)
I think the backround vocals is great. Singing alone without backround singers is boring.

Eh, I've tried singing to the instrumental of "evolution". I just concentrate really hard, I guess. It also helps that I've listened to "evolution" a lot and if I can get my focus, I can pretty much sing the whole thing. The background vocals don't throw me off that much; they kinda help in some cases.

For me, the backround vocals just throw me off completely and sometimes when I sing (Ex. "No way to say") the instruments kind of give me an edge on my timing. Blehh....I'm working on it. "Moments" has been tough for me since I don't know the Romaji lyrics.

Like Unimatrix, background music helps me, though songs like Evolution are still quite hard to get use to singing.

Hpwever songs like Rainbow, I could probably sing it with no music. It's always playing in my head o.O;
