What in the world?
Ok, guys. I went to the anime shop in dallas called anime pop and *gasp* found a couple ayumi hamasaki cds but lo and behold, the company in the back of the cd said it was released by Miya records. So, is miya a branch of Avex or is there something going on?

despite Miya being a bootleg company, they're packaging is still somewhat decent. I don't mind buying bootlegs, but if they're priced as much as an original I'd be an idiot to get it. However, I ALWAYS buy original ayumi stuff.

I'll have to be really careful when buying new stuff. I tend to go crazy when I find Ayu merchandise...I gotta make sure it's the real deal ><

nick: I've seen them too, Miya have nothing to do with avex. Avex isn't mentioned anywhere on their stuff, and i've been through avex's site several times over the years and it's not mentioned there either. Miya is a better-quality bootleg manufacturer though, kinda like Alion International.

Yeah... the first Ayu cd I bought was a bootleg... I didn't really know at the time when I bought it... but when I opened it... tsk.... in the booklet, they had several pictures of flowers, Matsu Takako, and Howie from Backstreet Boys... hm... nice Ayu booklet, eh? ^^; And the cd was poor... it skipped... ^^; So I learned real quickly after that... I sometimes buy bootleg stuff, but it's very rare now... I'd rather have the better quality versions ^__^

yep, miya is definitely a bootleg company. i think the only official distributors of avex items in asia are china record shanghai company (china), what's music inc (taiwan), avex asia limited (hong kong), and sm entertainment (s. korea).

Who cares if you buy a bootleg? I have like 3 I have 2 Ayu cds and a Initial D CD. But my books were filled with awesome Ayu pictures. I honestly dont care unless it didnt work. I saw some bootlegs in japan also though. Hell I have bootleg wall Initial D scrolls and they are a hell of a lot cooler than the Official ones.
