Two awesome russian singers that I learned about through my Russian class:

Anastacia stotskaya - favorite song is "veny reki"

Dimiti Patrov - favorite song "Tai"

if you want, I can send these to you.

I was gonna post a similar question but just about French singers. I'm about to start taking French in college and music usually helps me with whatever I'm doing ((i.e., Japanese XD ))

Great choice I was really into Kyo some years ago, I love their lyrics and the deep meaning of their songs. (I'm a native French speaker btw) I like their 1st album "Le chemin" better than "300 lésions". Now I'm just listening to them occasionally, J-Pop took me away from them and American music

many ppl told me 'Le Chemin' was much more better than '300 lésions'... i never heard 'Le Chemin' before, well i try to get that album... but its too expensive here. 'Le Chemin' was like 45 dollars or more..can't really remember it ('300 lésions' cost only 24 dollars.) but i still enjoyed '300 lésions'.

btw, i thought 'Le Chemin' was their 2nd album... right?

Yep, the 1st was released on an indie label isn't it? I consider Le Chemin as their 1st album since it's on a major label though it is their 2nd. Oh and Mylène Farmer is great, I consider her as the French Ayu, since she has a unique style and very deep lyrics.

I definately reccomend Nichya, 'Navsegda' is a fantastic song. You can get the music video at their official site. I also reccomend the english version song 'The Pain That You Choose' although I can't remember it's russian title.

Virus are also a good Russian group, very Techno though, so I guess to like it you'll have to appreciate Techno. lol.

Dusha has a nice voice, and her songs are pretty cool so look out for her aswell.

Finally, back on the Techno, Angelika is another good artist!

I was heavy into Russian music for awhile, before I discovered j-pop. Some of my favorites were~ Akula, Katya Nechaeva, Malina, Maxi-M, Nichya, Propaganda, Ruki Vverkh, Russkiy Razmer, Smash!!, Yulia Nachalova and Yulia Savicheva.

The Russian version was called 'Nichya,' too, like the band. =b And the english version was 'Pain To Choose.' That song is all about the sexy moaning. o_o
