It looks that fairyland sales will be worse than STEP you ... and I think fairyland will be 2nd in Monthly Single ... too bad. But for me fairyland is no1 .

the sales are not WORSE than step you.. they are less good STEP you has beaten all 2004 singles. fairyland might beat some (if not all) 2004 singles aswell. that's a good thing still

Yeah, you're right.
Her singles still are selling very well but true is that they're not so successfull like "H" for example.
And notice that "fairyland" had bigger promotion, so I expected better score than STEP you. But still it's not bad .

I was thinking the exact same thing... Seems like every position she's dropped a new thread has started. To be honest, what can be expected? To stay top 5 forever? lol. Its a given that the single will drop on the charts, espescially since it had extreme competition.. it seems as though some of Japan's most well known artists released new songs around the same time. So, cheers to Ayu for having number one for a hot second. Atleast she had that.


I also wish that alterna would have been promoted more than it was. It was, imo, a much better song lyrically and composition-wise than fairyland. I don't know if it would have affected sales all that much, but I would've been more apt to buy the single. (I bought it for alterna) Since the INSPIRE CDS, I've liked the songs released with the single (GAME, is this LOVE, alterna...) much more than the actual release.

Because of the tons of popular artists releasing something today, Ayu is now #13.

But you know what? I kinda really don't care about "fairyland" anymore, I'm all about "HEAVEN"!

It's not for me to say because I don't live in Japan, but it could be the fact that 'fairyland' was over-promoted. It had what, 4 tie-ups? And the chorus does get verrry tiresome after awhile, and they started promoting at the end of June. And while 'alterna' did get a LUMIX CM, it was still not promoted as well as previous c/w songs (GAME, is this LOVE?). So I don't think this has anything to do with Ayu's popularity declining, but a combination of bad marketing by Avex and a mediocre song by Ayu.

^^ I think you are right. I wish "alterna" got more attention because obviously, it's way better then "fairyland". She didn't even performed it once... That sucks.

At first, I wasn't really afraid of Mika's upcoming release. But thinking about it for a little while.........Ooooh. I hope fairyland still have the power to beat it.

Nakashima Mika's release is a mini-album I believe... so I don't think Ayu will have to compete with her. But oh wells I LOVE "fairyland cw/alterna" and own a copy so I don't give a hoot if other people aren't willing to buy it. But yay for "HEAVEN" coming out soon!
