Number 3 when everyones hopes were dashed and brutally damaged.. I'm sure most of us expected it to get number 1 today.. ORICON!! BE HONEST!!! It better sell lots! The Japanese can only be forgiven if HEAVEN sells over 500000 copies ! I HATE IT WHEN all kinds of random artistes just pop up from nowhere and snatches the throne, even for a minute! I wouldnt mind if it had been Hikki or Koda or Ai, but THIS? "Pecori Night by GORIE with JASMINE and JOANN"? WHAT KIND OF NURSERY RHYME IS THAT?
Now that HEAVEN is successful, we can finally breathe easy.. So happy!!! Hope it stays up there for at least 2 weeks, before Hikki comes..

Oh, i see why.. The timing is disastrous. They released Heaven BEFORE Shinobi. How stupid, whoever planned it should be punished..

But if they had released it after Shinobi, then it would be in direct competition with Utada and that would have been even worse. I think the main problem is that fairyland should have been released before August and they should have had Ayu performing Heaven a little sooner. I think Avex just got too comfortable, assuming that she would automatically get #1 no matter what.

Well, I prefer HEAVEN to be beaten by Be My Last than PECORI NIGHT . It made me so sad to know that her streak just ended like that.. Yes, I agree with the fact that Avex was overly comfortable, they just dozed off.. HEAVEN lacked some amount of promotion too.. Its so depressing.. Its not the end of the world for most, but for some of us, it is kind of.. I'm actually experiencing the end of the world..

As much as we love her, Japan and the Japanese entertainment industry do not revolve around Ayumi Hamasaki. I don't get the outrage over other groups doing well in the charts. The rankings don't really matter.

No, forgiveness was just a really weak ballad for her. She used to release singles month after month, MANY singles a year, and her sales were higher. It's not timing...good music is good music, if people wanted it that badly they'd get it. People need to stop making excuses and accept the fact that for once she's not #1...there are worse things in the world.

I think this thread is a bit dramatic. I think HEAVEN is a wonderful song. I'm not gonna get upset just because of its status on the oricon.

This is quite a shock. Yes, it's inevitable for Ayu to slide down eventually. I just didn't think it would begin now with such an anticipated single, especially because of the also highly anticipated movie tie-in.

But Ayu does have strong consistant sales. I'm sure as the days progress, Ayu will reach number 1 after all the rabid fangirls/boys buy those other singles. They usually drop fast on the charts. But we'll see. And I'm sure there will be a huge boost in sales after the movie debuts as well.

Yes, the charts don't really matter, but if this is a sign of things to come...I never expected it so soon.

I think Ayu should disappear for a short time and not release singles so often. that would bore the listeners though except us ayufans. she is not in her top age. she should make out more great songs. 4 example HEAVEN though it...
