Can chinese music DVDs be region free?

I was just wondering, i've seen Chinese singers that release their DVDs that are region free, is it possible that they aren't a bootleg?

Certainly! There are a lot of R0 Chinese DVDs - and a lot of them are not bootlegs. Of course, some are, but you'll just have to check that specifically.

In fact, most original Chinese Music DVDs are region-free, I rarely see one restricted to region-3.

Depends if you mean releases that are for China or releases for Taiwan (the distributors can differ depending on the company). I've gotten Ayumi and Koda Kumi DVD's and CD+DVDs from Taiwan and they are NOT region-free.

She seems to be asking about DVDs for Chinese artists considering the way she's worded it, and Hamasaki and Koda are Japanese.

And you could just check the item you want to get at Yesasia, considering they list the DVD Region Codes for their items.

Oh I see. Well, same thing applies in any case. Taiwanese DVD's (of basically anything) have region codes.
