I read in one of the threads in the ayu chat room, that ayu smokes & has undergone plastic surgery before..
juz v curious whether is it true & is there any news being reported on it..
and or on what grounds is that being said.. =X

Yes Ayu smokes, pictures have been circulated of her doing it before - But its no big deal, millions of people smoke.

Rumours of her having plastic surgery on her eyes have been around for a long time but tis has always been denied and never been proved.

Ayu has also visited gay bars in the past if you want more so-called "controversial" topics

Anyone who thinks hanging out at gay bars is controversial has obviously never been to one. Gay bars are usually at least 30% straight women. It's harder to find a guy to dance with than it is a girl.

As far as plastic surgery, all of my Japanese friends seem to individually think she has. When the subject of Hamasaki Ayumi ever comes up, the first thing any one of them will say is: "Her lyrics are great, but it's too bad she had her eyes done."

While I personally think she has had surgery, keep in mind there are a million ways to change your eyelid shape without surgery, and wealthy celebrities have access to the best methods. And candid pictures don't show much proof for or against the surgery stories--if they did, every tabloid cover of Celebrity-X who looked stoned because the camera caught them mid-blink would be the real deal too.

but i know deep in my heart i hope she'll quite smoking (IF she still smokes now) coz it's bad for her health.. =)

Both plastic surgery and smoking rumors have been circulating for ages. I don't know about the smoking thing but the plastic surgery issue is attached with every Japanese celebrity so I don't attach so much credibility to it. I say it isn't true but just a lot of clever make up.

The smoking thing was because of some picture which people still argue if she's holding a cigarette or not.

Well this is to the level of tabloid junk so there's nothing really to clarify. Most of the rumors come either from tabloids or people on internet who have too much free time on their hands. They've posted so much rubbish that no artists bothers any longer.

About the cigarette picture I don't have it but you can probably dig it up from some old thread.

Not really clear enough, but whatever. So what if she smokes? I doubt she does it really often anyway. Only probably on some special occasions.

Hmm, I don't know if either rumor is true or not.

A lot of people smoke, some a lot, some socially etc., so I don't really mind, even though I don't like it.

In terms her "eye surgery", if she did have it, I don't think it's a big deal.

It's more commonplace in Asian countries to get eyelid surgery, since most Asians are born with a single eyelid. From what I hear, double eyelid surgery is one of the most common forms of surgery in East and Southeast Asia, so it's no biggie.

Then again, she could've been born that way, so who knows?

It doesn't detract from her as an artist or a person, imo

]About surgery, one thing is an absolute truth: she DEFINITELY had a surgery on her teeth. She had crooked teeth and all of a sudden they became all regular and beautiful. You can't change teeth with make up...and brackets takes years!
