Welcome to the Third Official ARASHI Thread ~ !
ARASHI (嵐), which means Storm in Japanese, debuted in 1999 as part of Johnny's Jimusho. They consist of 5 boys whose musical style ranges from J-Pop to R&B to Hip-Hop to even influences of Rock. Over the years the members have grown in popularity both individually and as a group, leaving behind a string of successful TV shows, Dramas and Musicals as well as their music. In 2004, ARASHI celebrated their 5th Year Milestone Anniversary and in 2009, the group will celebrate their tenth year as a debuted unit.

Satoshi Ohno

~currently 27 years old
~Leader of ARASHI
~Also known as Riida, Leader, or Captain.
~Doesn't particularly like being leader (he wishes Sho was chosen instead)
~Used to be the least popular member
~Has amazing artistic ability, his exhibit "Freestyle" opens next month
~known to act like a "grandpa" or "someone who's still half-asleep"

相葉雅紀
Masaki Aiba

~currently 25 years old
~the big kid of ARASHI
~loves animals thus explaining his constant guesting on Tensai! Shimura Dobutsuen
~always comes up with crazy experiment ideas for their variety shows
~his parents own a Chinese restaurant
~he's also kind of ditzy, deciding to join Johnny's 1996 only with the dream of playing basketball with SMAP
~the tallest member of ARASHI, also

櫻井翔
Sho Sakurai

~currently 25 years old
~the rapper of ARASHI
~the only member to attend college (Keio University majoring in Economics)
~since attending Keio, many of his kouhai looked up to him and decided to enroll in university also
~despite looking tougher than the others, he's in fact the biggest scaredy-cat
~his father is an important politician, thus explaining his side job on the news show News ZERO

二宮和也
Kazunari Ninomiya

~currently 24 years old
~the smart-ass of ARASHI
~loves playing pranks and making fun of other members
~a well known actor as well as singer
~made his Hollywood debut in 2006 in Clint Eastwood's "Letters from Iwo Jima" as Saigo. His performance was singled out and praised by well-known Hollywood movie reviewer, Roger Ebert, as 'thoroughly winning.'
~the shortest ARASHI member

松本潤
Jun Matsumoto

~currently 24 years old
~the fashionista of ARASHI, in fact: He didn’t like the HYD curly hairstyle because of the fashion problems it posed on him. When he was on set, it was fine because he had costumes, but once he was out, he couldn’t find anything in his wardrobe to compliment his curly hairstyle
~Matsumoto is considered an elite in Johnny's, because he is one of the three in his batch to join Johnny's Entertainment without having to audition.
~is myopic. Although he wears contact lenses for his work, he is frequently seen with spectacles
~is also a well known actor, winning many awards for his dramas such as Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango 1&2, and Bambino!
~is known for being very serious and professional when it comes to his work
~also known as the "bait" considering his good looks tend to lure fans to ARASHI (eh hem...Kaori....>,>)
