I find it hard to believe she's sold that much in Asia, but there are no official charts that give definitive numbers so it's impossible to prove either way.

Those numbers are shipped copies (which avex got money for them so they counted them I guess) though the range of real sales are always in the 100,000-300,000 minus range of the shipped numbers.

The Japanese corporate world is pretty blatantly corrupt though. It wouldn't be past them to inflate things like this, which only they can verify.

true, they're corrupt in a way that they do have a lot of favoritism & unfair deals with other companies.

but inflating the finanvial summary makes no sense. the owners are expecting the yearly end result to be in line with the financial reports, and if it does not live up to what you could expect from these it would be just disastrous for the company. and a fraud of somesort too.

also it's a fact that Oricon does not cover all the sales. the actual sales are probably 10-20% higher for each artist than the number given by Oricon. but Oricon is a good indicator for the success and the most reputable chart in Japan nonetheless
