CDJapan vs HMV

I don't know if I should post this here, so if not please move. ^^

My question is:
What are the big differences with HMV, compared to CDJapan?

And I don't mean prices. ^^ HMV is already cheaper for me. I mean:

- Does HMV get first press bonuses?
- How does HMV ship the posters?
(^ because I don't see any poster details on any item.. like Kuu's stay with me; nor "Limited Edition" or "First Press" info..)

Any other differences, please tell. ^^

Ive never used HMV but they do usually send out posters from what ive heard. BUT they fold them meaning there a bit eeh when you get them. Whereas CDJapan rolls them up and puts them with the cd in a big box.

BTW do you know the fastest shipping method they have and the price and time of delivery? I don't to register if they're bad, and I can't find it in the help file~

HMV does have first press, it's written limited edition on singles or I suppose nothing on albums. And yeah, they fold posters because sending them in packet.
Well i got from HMW MW first press(folded poster is awful) BUT I also got CDL07-08, AT07, My Story DVD-A, A COMPLETE 3cd+dvd first press and delivery was really fast) all items i got in 1 week

they does ship only by EMS

Im guessing they use EMS like you can do with CDJapan. Really just for not having the poster folded they are the ones to use

Yea I'm gonna use CDJapan then, as soon as I find out if Kuu's TRICK has a poster bonus XD

so they're awesome to use if you want her older stuff that don't have posters.

i really want to buy memorial adres and CDL05/06 and CDL07/08 when i get the money.

I ordered my BREAKERZ's Angelic Smile / WINTER PARTY singles from HMV Japan & both are 1st presses in that each single comes with a different B2 sized poster & they folded both of them & put them inside the envelope but it's ok as I don't mind about it

In terms of shipping fee , HMV Japan's slightly cheaper although they only have EMS as its shipping option unlike for CDJapan where you can choose like EMS , Registered Airmail , Airmail & SAL .

Between HMV Japan's & CDJapan's EMS shipping , CDJapan's faster . HMV Japan's slower by a day or 2 .

& speaking of 1st presses , on CDJapan's site , they do state whether certain items have 1st presses still or not . It's not like HMV Japan's case although it's understood that if you preorder extremely early , your 1st press goodies are guaranteed

^well you an write them an enquiry abot product and they will answer you will you get first press or not. In my case HMV's shipping faster than CDJapan ones, but they are sending it on the release date, not a few days earlier as CDj, but it is going through the customs really faster

ah ok I see

I had a lot of problems with the items coming up to my house when I used HMV Japan , the postman was probably lazy or something but I had so much problems with EMS for my last few orders with HMV Japan that I switched to CDJapan

not to mention at least I can choose Airmail because I frankly don't see the need to pay so much for shipping

you're not right I think. The fold it because it's the only way to send them in packet(not in box as CDj does). Sending in packet means lower shipping cost and that is really good as for me

I ordered YUI's MY SHORT STORIES poster a while back ago for my younger sister as an early Christmas present for her & it came in a big tube

I haven't got thát much experience (5 orders on CDjapan and 4 on YesAsia the past year), but this is from my experience:

- CDJapan ships a few days faster. (based on Airmail, I always choose regular airmail).

For the Bonus Items, I dunno which site is better.. CDjapan was the only one to have the HEART STATION poster but YesAsia was the only one to guarantee (100%) to give a present with A Complete ~All Singles~.

So I guess it depends on the thing you want to buy, and how fast you wanna have it oh of course, this one's important as well:

-YesAsia has Oversees editions. This means YesAsia often has cheap CD's (like I bought (miss)understood for $13) and they're more likely to still have First Press bonus item because the oversees edition isn't sold out yet. I bought (m)u Korean edition a few months ago and it still came with Off My Day!

CONs:
-HMV is a CD/DVD + MISC store, so don't spect to find everything
-They FOLD posters
-You can't be sure you get First Press.
-Average Shipping

YESASIA:
*PROS:
Huge range of products
They do carry overseas
"free" shipping

*CONS:
Japanese products are higher priced than normal
Shipping can be more expensive than usual
SALES DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS ORICON RANK/SALES
Sometimes yesasia sells first press bonusses, they don't give them away. Or if they do they simply call it a special package, and you are actually paying for the extra stuff (mostly posters)

Overall: I tend to always order from cdjapan, They give so many coupons, they have a nice point system, so my orders tend to be cheaper. Shipping is always fast, and customer service is great and fast.

Yesasia, I have bad/good stories with them, I ordered an overseas A complete from them. Never arrived. i had choosen free shipping, so there was no way I could claim insurance (as opposed to you ordering via ems), I sent them an email and theyinmediatly sent a reshipment which was quite nice. Order arrived after like 3 weeks though.
I usually use yesasia to compara how much "less" something would end up costing with them, and I just don't find it worth it. Sure, you end up paying like $10 less due to free shipping, but if it gets lost they have no reason to reship or pay u back. And if you use EMS, pretty much the same a ordering from cdj or hmv.

Hmv, have nothing bad to report, nor anything great. Other than sometimes artists like Alan/kuu get a free postcard if you order from HMV. Other than that I haven't noticed any difference. But DONT order anything with posters from them, they pretty much fold the posters and dont care xD

So yeah, I prefer Cdjapan HelpsAyu too!
