I think a celebrity is someone in the entertainment industry. So actors, singers...
I understand why Ayu isn't listed though. She not exactly the traditional Japanese beauty or a true beauty.

I'm not sure if I agree, allthough I think most of the avx ladies have a mor "exotic" beauty, in the sense that they have something striking and special about them rather than being plain traditional beauties. Ayu may not be a traditional beauty, but she has many features that would b considered really beautiful by japanese standards, like her eyes.

I understand what you mean. It's true that avex female artists really stand out in their looks. Maki Goto looks Caucasian! Namie has a truly unique look. Ayu has really delicate features. I like her small nose. Not so much the eyes, they have been looking really weird lately. But looking at the list, most of them are traditional beauties. Black long hair and such.

It's like comparing Zhang Ziyi with Jolin for example. To me, Zhang Ziyi would be the most beautiful. Jolin is no doubt pretty too. But she also has very light brown hair, almost blond with huge eyes and such. Zhang Ziyi in the contrary, is all traditional with long black hair, natural, white skin...

Japanese have different standards for beauty, I guess. I would NEVER consider Kou Shibasaki beautiful. She freaks me out.
