i tried to translate the article, but my english is not that good
sorry if there's any confusing part ^_^

big break at the karaoke bar
Though she quit the school during 10th grade and like to hang out
at shibuya, she didn't directly trust Matsuura (from avex, record company)
which offered her a singing contract.no wonder, since they met at the karaoke bar.

face or voice?
With 156 cm height, the 2nd October 1978 born girl still can looked beautiful,
modist, and became an idol. There's a period when she use cowboy girl style,
barbie, fake japanese, and even t.A.T.u! Just take a look at her new album,
A BALLADS, showing two ayumi having an intimacy pose.Mmm... from vocal quality,
speaking the truth, she's good, but not that damn good!for her fans,
one more time, this is a proof that she's not just a product of
industrial manufacture which can instantly change squeeky voice into
well polished voice. At least, she's indeed one of the kind who'd struggle hard
to reach her dreams. She's real man!

smart controlling girl!
from her round eyes and slim shaped body, the press like to compared her
to britney spears. While for ayumi herself, britney has the look, but
there's something in her which is unnatural.Well, considering her level
of naughtiness and smart,no doubt that ayumi resemble madonna more
who's strong and sure know what she wants. For her, image is everything.
So,when she says she likes her right angle, you better do it,mister!

Thank you!!

T.A.T.U always look so gross when they're acting like lovers because they look like they're 12-13 year olds. Ewwww

Thanks for the article and translation. I don't think Ayu's like Madonna in any way, I don't really understand comparisons like that...

Well, it should be sort of a compliment to be compared with Madonna. I mean, Madonna is an independent artist with her own record label who has been around for twenty years and still going strong. What's wrong with that?

Ayu is often referred to as the Japanese Madonna, which isn't even that strange. Better than 'Japanese Britney' or something.

I don't see it as a compliment - I view it as a bit of an insult to compare someone with principles to someone I consider a tramp... It seems to me that Ayu's songs are created as an artform, Madonna's are just made that way because that type of music is selling really well - years ago she was ahead of everything, but now she just uses a type of music because it will sell... and I don't see Ayu prostetuting herself just to sell her songs. That's just how I see it.

Well, I agree with you on the fact that Madonna has always been a wee bit trampy, which Ayu has never been, or at least not in Madonna terms. You say Madonna makes this kind of music because it sells well, but I don't really think that is true. Surely, it is pop music, so it is, to some extent, adjusted to what is considered as popular music. But Madonna has always been writing her own music and doing her own 'thing', so was more of a trendsetter than a trendfollower. I don't really care for what she's doing these days, because I always consider the comparisons as if Ayu's compared to the old Madonna (80's) and not to the nowadays' Madonna.

hi mimika!actually i'm still keep in touch with AHS,visit regularly but usually i'm so hurried up since im playing at cyber cafe so no time reply or make a new post

but now i already bought my computer.. so i can type my post at home, then save it, and copy paste it at the cyber cafe... i'm so happy with my new computer ^_^

about ayu herself... dunno why but i really missed her old figure and her old songs... something's missing from her now,how just i love those old songs of her.

and t.A.T.u... ehm.. they found the fact that whenever press taking photos or interview, julia and lena will act like a lover with their hot attitude, but after nobody's interviewing them.. everything is over, those 2 lovers onlt exist during interview.well, anyway that lesbian issue really give a big impact to their popularity after all....

I don't mean the pop music Madonna did, I was talking about a few years ago when dance music dominated the charts and she jumped on the bandwagon and had a number one album as a result. At least, that's how I saw it.

are you talking about Ray of Light? It was an AMAZING album.. so much originality and beauty in it.. I don't think she jumped any bandwagons making this album..
