Another possible inspiration for Ayu's PV
It may be a coincidence of course, but the moment I saw it I thought about Fated PV. Since Ayu has been often inspired by different movies this one may have also been one of them (it's such an amazing movie btw).
I'm from Poland, so when I heard that there's a Chinese movie based on a Polish poem and that they are reciting it in Polish I thought I want to see it. Did I mention that Takeshi Kaneshiro plays the read role? ![]() The movie starts with such scene: ![]() ![]() Two colorful umbrellas separated by lots of black ones. Just like in Fated PV, and similarly both belong to people connected by a fate. (It's a movie about people who live next to each other, go to the same places, use the same means of transport but cannot meet each other) At the end of the movie the two umbrellas can be seen again. ![]() Unlike Fated PV the movie has a good ending and that's why the umbrellas are close to each other. ![]() The movie is called Turn Left, Turn Right / Heung joh chow heung yau chow.

haha it does look inspired by it and since the director was from hong kong and this movie was a joint project between singapore and hong kong, it's possible
and like the movie, even though ayu's love is so close away, but yet it's a far distance because they didn't know each other yet..or that they did, but still can't be together ( 金城武 )

i looked it up, and it sounds like a cute movie! i think the fated connection is probably just coincidence, though.

It may have been an inspiration, but I don't think it was a direct rip-off or anything.

i'm sure if you looked the theme of colored umbrellas against black umbrellas is fairly common. i'm sure i've seen it in other places as well.
didn't she even use it in rainy day pv as well?

I haven't seen the Polish movie, but it's looks a bit random while glitter/fated is clearly supposed to symbolize what comes between ayu and the bodyguard.

Of course it's not filmed in the same way, why should it? Even if it was the scene that inspired Ayu's director he wouldn't film it exactly same way, it's not a remake, it's the idea that counts ![]() I'd love to see more scenes like this one, you say they are in lots of movies, can you give at least few examples? Really no need to feel insulted just because I suggested it might have been the source of inspiration. I thought it would be a funny trivia and not another reason for unpleasant comments. I'm not talking about anyone in particular but usually when somebody points out sth like this some people start saying that this is random, this is superficial, this was made after Ayu (even if it is older) and bash the other movie, commencial, photo, person, etc. Come on, nobody wants to insult Ayu in any way!

Oh lol I got too excited XD
@zoomzoom: I agree... but fated is a PV so there are less characters, and it's shorter, so it's easier to execute hidden nuances and symbolism, as compared to a movie. But I still like the whole umbrella idea... it's beautiful.

HAhahahahahah! ayumi has influence back in time !!! LOL
btw guys, it's not a polish movie, the movie is Chinese and stars superstar Takeshi Kaneshiro and Hong Kong actress Gigi Leung. It was a big hit a few years ago.
