A Mess up in AT 90?!

I was just wondering If I was the only one that noticed that Ayu totally messed up in the beginning of Rollin'

It was like first she started singing the second verse, then making up her own lyrics and then some la la la's It was so cute!

Concerning Lip-synching, EnergizE is obvious, and I have some doubt with Sunrise too.

I think it's pretty clear and obvious that ayu doesn't lip sync at all in any of her songs.



as for the lip sync in ''at 90". She probably did lip sync. But since energize isn't one of my favorite songs, I really didn't notice. I don't mind if she lip syncs. sometimes its good for them to take a breather, or to not work so hard while dancing.

if she lip syncs it's not the end of the world. I don't love her any less.

I think the second chorus where she hides her mouth because she realized she messed up the first one is even better xD

What surprises me is: though I think she synched just as much as the last years it didn't really make it worse for me this time. It all were songs that IMO were "ok" to lipsynch. There was no ballad, no song with her just standing around or that in some other way just had to be live that gives me a playback impression.
After some others said what they think was not live I think I can now do the same without being jumped at.
I'm 100% the following were not live:
EnergizE
Sunrise
LOVE 'n' HATE
identity

Sparkle was either playback or had a backtrack that totally overpowered the live voice.

In The Corner has the benifit of the doubt.

Ayu isn't famous for being an extraordinarily talented musician - if someone like, say, Shiina Ringo was miming for an entire concert, I'd probably have issues with that. If YUI got up onstage and just pretended to play guitar, that would be scandalous to me.

But ayu lip-syncing? Not that big of a deal. Her voice isn't the reason you go see her in concert, it's cuz of the visuals, her personality, the dancers, stuff like that. Ayu obviously tries to sing live when she can, but if her movement on stage is gonna make it so she sounds horrible, she lip-syncs instead. I'm okay with that, I think it's perfectly reasonable. At least she lip-syncs to live recordings rather than just using the album version. That'd be so boring o_O

Even without the mistake in lyrics nobody ever suspected a rollin' performance to be playback, the performances that people suspect to be not live in this tour(not saying my own opinion!) are:

Actually she does sometimes.... and it's pretty obvious when she does. I'm not an ayu-hater at all (ask anyone) but she has three very horrible habits when she lip-syncs.

1) This one she's eased up on, but she used to kinda shake her head around awkwardly when lip-syncing in concert.
2) She holds her mouth position at the end of a line for WAY too long, because she's not sure when the line is supposed to end. So while the song has stopped making an "ooh" sound, her mouth is still in a circle shape.
3) She over-pronounces everything and pushes her lips out in a very unnatural way. Her mouth is very obviously trying to make the shapes of the words to the point where her mouth movements don't really match the sounds we're actually hearing. The recording might be making a very delicate "uuh" sort of "u" sound, but her mouth will be in a big, obvious circle, going "OOOO". Her mouth puckers up ALOT.

For the most part it's VERY obvious when she's lip-syncing and when she's not. If it's a song with heavy choreography for ayu and she's doing ANY of the above, she's probably lip-syncing. I'm about 99.9% positive EnergizE was lip-synced, for example.

I don't really think she tried to hide lip-synching at EnergizE. It's more than obvious. Same goes for Sunrise, LOVE'n'HATE and identity. Though all other songs seems to be live(even Sparkle was live, but had a backtrack)

i agre with you, ayu tend to have those obvious mouth movement when lip syching, it's funny though.

it amuse me more reading those die-hard/stubborn fans' coments, insisting that ayu did not lip sych and the video was edited, coz their DVD is perfect...someone should tell them that there was a LIVE tv edition, and the 'perfect' dvd they got are edited...ha ha
