Do you must like someone's personality / appearance to like their music too?

The question is obvious: do you care about artist's personality or appearance when comes to music? If you, for an example, don't like Ayumi Hamasaki as a person (what you heard from media, or your own judgement) does it mean you won't like her music, or it doesn't matter for you?

I tbh don't care about appearance, the artist can be ugly, but if their music is awesome, I'll respect them and listen to them. And when comes to personality, I'm not always sure. If I don't respect someone as a person, it's hard for me to respect someone as an artist.

I don't really care, I can't see their appearance in the songs they sing

Though for live performances, it would be nice if they look good

I only listen to the music. If it appeals to me, then I really do not care what they look like.

this is a hard question well some artist can be obnoxious but
they could have good music
i would listen to their music no matter their personality
but i wouldnt look up their interviews or
anything that hasnt got to do with watching their mv and their music

ia with jackie. i listen to them some people who are pretty obnoxious but i just ignore their interviews and stuff.. it doesn't really matter to me.

and appearance doesn't matter to me at all, though i am more likely to look at interviews, performances, ect. if the person is attractive, but i think that applies to most people.

This is hard to answer. I think all the singers I listen to are generally nice people... Kuu, Ayu, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Hilary Duff, Britney, Madonna... I don't think they are obnoxious female dogs or whatever... but that's just my opinion, so I'm lucky lol.

nope.. it doesn't matter for me, only the music is important.
but sometimes it depends on who are the artists.
if it's britney, I dont care with her personality, i will always like her. but if it's artist that I Dont really know, I will see her attitute.

For the most part, only the music matters to me. Of course, beauty and a nice personality is a plus, but if they're average or "ugly" and make good music, I'd still listen to them.

However, if I don't like them as a person because of the way they behave, it'll be a bit harder for me to like their music, especially if it's something shallow.

I actually thought about this the other day, and realized it's hard for me to listen to someone's music if i don't really like them as a person/ their personality. Like if I watch an interview, and they're stuck up or say somehting stupid, it kind of ruins their music for me. Appearance doesn't really matter though.

I'm just a FAN of my favourite singers, not their best friend, so I couldn't care less what kind of personality they have.

i can like SONGS if i dont like the personality
i only like AN ARTIST if i like the personality, because its connedted to the lyrics and the songs
i only like CONCERTS if the artist looks good

Music is music. A nasty personality or an ugly face won't change the music they make.

I personally don't care about either. If the artist or band has great charisma, then that's a plus. Erika Sawajiri has a bad attitude, but it doesn't stop me from loving her music. As for looks... I don't consider beauty or attractiveness as important. And frankly, there's so many pretty faces but they are simply talentless (Leah Dizon for example).

I don't know / not sure.

But what I will say is that it's a big turn-off if a music artist has a bad personality or attitude problem.

I can't really respect an artist / group if they aren't very nice, or friendly, etc.

for example:
i hate chris brown after he beat up rihanna, but his music is okay
some artists are not attractive AT ALL, but have nice voice/music

I don't really mind about their personality.

For example, Lady Gaga. I love her music...I don't really like her so much. Not for reasons people would think either. The **** image is okay with me.


But when I do love an artist's personality, it's really nice. Like the cherry on top of an awesome sundae. Like kuu and ayu. They're awesome people, so it makes the music more likeable.

It also doesn't suck as much when they come out with something that isn't that great.

Yes and no. When someone is a complete attention-***** or has done some not so nice things, I lose respect for them as a person and that includes the music they make because it's a part of them. I don't give their music the time of day. Examples: Mariah Carey and Chris Brown.

Appearance has nothing to do with musical ability and it does not deter me from listening to someone's music. They can be really *****y and hot and have no talent whatsoever or be average-looking and a great musician. I'd choose the latter.

I love that analogy! That's exactly how I feel, too. Knowing I'm listening to a nice person makes the music more enjoyable for me.
