I would rather not have to buy any compilation albums since I'm going to be buying all of her albums but I want to own them for the sake of the DVDs that they come with since they have exclusive footage.

I like to buy them to have the booklets, and if the album comes with anything like a poster or something, but I don't normally rip them to iTunes since I already have all the songs.
The only ayu compilation I have ripped to iTunes is "A BALLADS".

i have all her compilation albums.

and i can tell you that A BALLADS is worth owning, because the songs are drastically changed, and some are better than originals.

Compilation albums are actually pretty excellent purchases for a newbie such as yourself, especially if you're not really loaded with cash (11 studio albums plus 1 mini-album does add up, even with YesAsia having Overseas editions, after all) and really want to support Ayu without totally breaking your bank.

Plus, like others said, no other way to get certain footage and tracks. In addition, A BEST has re-recordings of 3 songs, A BALLADS has remixes and re-recordings, and A BEST 2 has remasters of some songs.

I only own A BEST, and I never bought A BEST 2 (Black and White) because I already have most of the songs from the studio albums.

As for A COMPLETE, I didn't buy it. Again, I have most of her studio albums, so there's no need for me to buy it, when most of the songs are on the studio albums.

I would say A BALLADS is worth it, if not only because there are two exclusive songs on it, but also because most of the other tracks are drastically rearranged to the point that they're almost new songs. It's a very soothing album. I listen to it at the dentist's office =P

If you're a person who's collecting her albums and singles anyway then in a general sense, no. Because you can always download that one new song. I don't really care about exclusive footage and all that jazz tbh so I'd rather just get MW + all the albums and call it a day.

The ONLY reason I'm considering buying the Best 2 Black and White CD+DVD's though is because they have Free and Easy, Real Me, Voyage, and some of her earlier videos that were released way before the standard CD+DVD format. I'm definitely considering A Ballads as well since the covers are beautiful and it's a crying shame not to have the incredible 'RAINBOW' on some type of physical CD, lol.

I was lucky to find A BALLADS in my town at a local record store, in ARIZONA no less. It was so awesome! I just had to buy it right when I saw it. And I have never regretted doing so.

Really? Lucky~

I actually saw a copy of it and ayu trance 3 in a local store too, BUT I only had enough money to buy one of them at that time, and I chose ayu trance. I did not regret my choice, but I wish I had bought it as well, haha.

Why not just save 20-40 extra dollars and just buy the Complete Clip Box? Last time I checked, which was recently, it's still in print and the better buy if you're really only after older PVs on DVD.

I would love to have the A Complete Clip Box but it's not in within my price range right now. I'm considering either saving up for it or hoping that it will go down in price some. I almost paid for it on eBay a couple of days ago but then I realized it was a bootleg as it is region 0.

All of her compilation albums have exclusive footage, except for A BEST. Well that one still has exclusive re-recordings, but I can imagine that's not a good enough reason to buy it.

Like has been posted, A BEST 2 has CDL 06-07, and A COMPLETE has the TA limited tour and previously unreleased a-nation footage. A BALLADS doesn't have a DVD, but it has RAINBOW.

The only one I'm missing currently is A BALLADS... and I want it !

I HIGHLY recommend A BALLADS! KarenPang pretty much explained why it's worth having. The remixed versions featured on this album are excellent, especially "appears (HAL's Progress)" and "M (HAL's Progress)." Even the subtle changes made to "SEASONS" are well done. Back when A BALLADS was released, I immediately bought it because the previews were so good, and to this day it's still one of my all-time favorite music purchases.

I would say....A-Best isn't really worth it unless you need it for collection.... definitely pick up A-Ballads it's like one of her best albums...Dont get A-Best II Black unless you really need the songs....A-Best 2 White is totally worth it because of the awesome CDL 06-07 concert. A Complete is great too...

of course... usually there's one new song or maybe the alternate version of an old song...

but DVD is so good, with all the PVs or some limited concerts (like in A COMPLETE)
