The symbolism and concept of the crossroad PV are enough to just not make me think about whatever it might have copied. I'm sure eminen's video doesn't have the emaning of burning ayu wanted to portray, since burning different matches mean choosing roads in life that leaves a track of ash as memories in the past, and while she stands there thinking, she's chosen a road and burns until what's left is ashes. This was my interpretation on the PV and it suits pretty well with the song lyrics imo:

That and Ayu has compared herself to a blooming and withering flower in the past, and she combusts into an utter bonfire of flower petals after she's completely gone. The meaning of combusting & exploding in such a manner isn't out of character for ayu, and if you gonna have Ayu turn into a bunch of loose flower petals, isn't fire the best way to do it and have it really make an impact? I would have made the same creative decisions in her & the director's place regardless of whether people had been on fire in a recent video.
