I would always start with more recent ones. I guess if someone showed me a new artist I would rather see a concert from the last 2-3 years first than one from 2001...

It really depends...

Not everyone really likes huge visual concerts, some people thinks the production is there to hide the artist's lack of talent... And for those people, I would never recommend any of her main tour DVDs...

If the person enjoys a big show, I would take AT10 any day of the week, but any of her post 2005 Arena Tours are really good if u ask me... I find A Museum, AT03-04 and Concert Tours to be REALLY tacky visually. And IMO Ayu is not at her full power at Dome Tour... the show itself is grand, but Ayu herself is nothing special as an entertainer there... Still, those are just opinions... in the end, I woudn't also recommend those cuz it's her ultra high voice era, that not every newcomer would really like...

If the person enjoys tonned down music focused concerts, I would recommend A-nation 08 or 09 (both cuz she was really good on those, and cuz we have the full sets) or CDL's 04-05 or 05-06, where she is really perfoming good and with good setlists... CDL 10-11 would also be a interesting choice...

I personally wouldn't use PCDL... even if it has more songs, giving the person a bigger variety, it's also very long... What can be really tiring for someone who isn't into her music and her performances (I know I'm into her and even so find it boring to watch from begining to end).

So... in a nutshell:

Grand show: At10 (or 05, 06, 07, 08, 09)
Simpler show: A-nation 09 (or 08, or CDLs 04-05, 05-06, 10-11)

oh right...I remember most of Ayu's old concert have this 'oldish' feeling especially the stage..not quite polished...

@Andrenekoi: well, I would want them to see and be amazed at Ayu's general performance as an entertainer but since they are still new to Ayu, it would also help if her concerts include visual, stage, and big production for them to be hooked with Ayu...
nice suggestions btw...

Well, I myself don't think huge productions are bad if the artist is strong enough to use it to value their talents... Considering IMO Ayu is one of the alive top performers in music, powerful enough to give some worldwide idols a run for their money, I think she got what it needs. I already converted some people into her fans using all ATs from 06 to 10

Still, the size of her shows is a common complain from those who dislikes her... And they always say artists who does it, goes like that to hide the lack of talent... Some actually does, and obviously this is not Ayu's case, but if u r going to show her concerts to someone who thinks like that (don't know if this is the case), there's a bigger chance of causing a bad impression^^

Bubbly's comment about old and new stuff is also interesting... I also prefer seeing recent stuff from artists I'm starting to know, in order to see if the good stuff is a constant or just an accident from their peak xD

Everything but Dome Tour 2001. The concert was tacky, she sounded horrible and she was far from being a great performer back then.

For more complex tours RnRC Tour, for simpler concerts CDL1011, CDL0506 or a-nation '05(since her vocals were beautiful there)

For tours, I think the ones most likely to leave an impression are DOME TOUR 2001 and Rock'n'Roll Circus Tour ~7 Days Special~.

However, you could just show them 50 SINGLES ~LIVE SELECTION~ for a good range of all eras, then show them more of the tour(s) their favorite clips came from.

Although I love every Ayu concert, I think Rock'n'roll Circus Tour is the best choice. The intro is simply breathtaking and it will leave them speechless for sure. When they realized, they'll be into the show
