Well, Mitkki did say "he's not popular outside of Japan at all." And since I assume more international people shop through YesAsia rather than HMV and CDJapan, it would explain why his name isn't on YesAsia's list.

Mm ... I don't know? Some fans don't really tune in to news of their favourite singers. They just know something is coming up but they wait first before they buy. I know a lot of my friends who are like that. Well, I think we'll just have to wait and see.

Ayumi might still sell, who knows? Recently, she's been appearing in a whole array of magazines and tabloids (regarding her LA Trip), she's been getting quite a lot of publicity lately. I'm not sure whether it'll affect her sales but I do know there's a lot of publicity around INSPIRE. I suppose it's just Ayumi's 2nd "evolution"?

But then again ... we'll just have to wait and see ...

I think it's got alot to do with the fact that he's

1). a guy, and I guess good looking
2). a famous actor in doramas
3). got a legion of 20/30 something female fans who do nothing but watch doramas and have a ton of money to spend on CDs.

Ayu doesn't appear in doramas at all and even if she did it's mostly female audiences anyway...so she's lost fans in that demographic. But then Masaharu's song is a remix single so who knows what'll happen until the day....

I have this feeling that Ayu is gonna lose to Fuyu. Almost everything Fuyu's released in the past has hit # 1 and no doubt about this time. Those fan girls are just crazy. Well, Since Ayu has a fans ranging from girls to guys, there's a chance Ayu will top it, not to mention Fuyu's single is a remix of one of his songs.
