Ok, everything on this damn album growed on me a lot. Trick is not to compare it to the first japanese album, ever, and you'll be able to enjoy it without problems.
It's nothing perfect, but it's very fresh, with a rockish feeling that I appreciate much more than the souless, half-attempted club banger tracks at the beginning of Girls & Peace. I mean, I tried many times, but things like Animal, T.O.P and Reflection still bore me to death, they completely lack in that energy required to make them work like the dance tracks they're supposed to be.
Love & Peace has a lot of energic, playful songs, somewhere improvable and not great, but enjoyable all the same. But, I have to say it, they're crazy releasing this stuff in Winter. It's clearly Spring material.
Flyers is amazingly uplifting and it works really well! Yeah, I'm really digging this rockish vein.

lol, T.O.P and Boomerang were the best on their second album. listend to all three today and I never got why theirfirst one should be counted as the best with those half assed rehash songs and those okeish ballads. Girls & Peace has the bets individual tracks to me, love&peace the best overall package.

I really enjoyed Animal. I even made my own choreography for it. I do enjoy the second album best, the first was gret. This new album si slowly growing on me, but I still count it as third overall. That does not make it a bad album, just not their best.

That's kind of the thing with GG, most of the songs really grow on you. I'm guessing this album will too. I remember I hated I Got A Boy, now I love it to death.

To be fair, the promotion for this album hasn't been great. I haven't seen it advertised anywhere and I haven't heard My oh My being played anywhere. Meanwhile, at Tower Records in Shibuya, there was a huge Super Junior portrait covering the whole wall of the bottom floor. I don't get it.

^ it's SONE Japan fanclub limited, so unless you're a member living in Japan, you can't get it... It might popup on ebay though, you never know.
Basically it's the same as the CD only, it just has a bonus track and some application paper for the girls' upcoming tour.

Thanks a lot for this!

I really hope they continue their career in Japan. There are singers who are doing worse than them and stay there anyway. I love their japanese attemps, 'cause I think they show a different side of the girls. That's what I really love about their Japanese songs, they seem to somehow reinvent themselves there, it's not just Girls Generation from Korea performing in Japanese.

Let me copy/paste what I just wrote on my facebook, I've almost died laughing today

Quote:
I'm listening to a light Korean song right now and there's a mix of korean and english lyrics that stunns me a bit, it goes like this:

"[korean] [korean] [korean] all night long,
[korean] [korean] [korean] black and strong"

I dunno if they are singing about a cup of coffee or some afro-american guy O_o The song is called Express 999, so maybe it's about a train, lol, off to find some english translation :p
Quote:
It's such a bad lyric day, I hate when they mix two languages in one song, this time it was Japanese and English and I've been hearing "Butterfly, buta, spider" which I thought was "Butterfly, pig, spider" (buta = pig in Japanese) for months, it kind of fit to me but made the meaning of the song completely stupid, lol. It was actually something different. OMG XD LOLING so hard.
