i think "Drift" does sound like a kind of dreamy, balladesque track... it would be cool if there was a trance c/w track like "Connected"...
or maybe ayu's going to release a progressive house album

July's a long way....i thought i could hear her new song just in a while. You see, i got used to her releasing new stuff every once a while, a month. So, i guess she had way too much stuff to do.

its funny how this is like still quick releasing compared to foreign artists but because everyone expects ayu to be releasing like shes a woman possessed they cant wait a few months like you would a star from uk or whatever :p

Thanks for the news! It came out so quick... but I love the title 'Drift' its really nice. But July is such a long wait! But I hope she gets a good rest since she deserves it a lot. Hopefully it'll be a 10-Maxi single too, I kinda miss those. - Team Ayu

i dont know for sure if they have done or not, but when ayu releases a single now i dont think ~i hope theres 10tracks~ i just assume theyll b 4 or whatever because why would avex suddenly revert back to their old strategy? if ayus sales had taken a dramatic drop after not having 10tracks maybe they would have got scared and pushed the tracklist back up to 10, but shes still hitting #1 in oricon and stuff, so they dont have any reason to just change back. but thats only what i think

It looks like they're cutting back almost everyone's singles to fewer tracks, not just ayu. Remixers are just too expensive to hire. They're not gonna go back to 10-track singles anytime soon, i'm afraid.

Here's something no ayu fan wants to hear:

Avex DOES NOT CARE WHAT THE FANS WANT OR ASK FOR, as long as they get their money. And at the moment they're getting it. So they're not gonna change what they're doing.

Well it's true.

Well, I agree with the 10 track singles. With Japan's economy in the shape it is, no way Avex is going to spend the money they once were on Ayu's singles.

But the part about Avex not caring, I have to wonder about the time that Ayu-mix III came out and everyone was wanting full versions of the remixes from there. Then Avex released the 'excerpts' collection from Ayu-mix III containing full remixes. Also, there was wonder about Ayu's mysterious nonappearence in the "Endless Sorrow" video, so she filmed a clip of herself to go at the end for the video's release on A Clips 2. If Avex didn't care about fans, I don't think they would have done those things. But maybe Ayu was behind those things. I don't know. I guess that they have to do what they have to do save their business. If the money isn't as strong as it once was, they need to do what's best for the company.

its kind of weird to film a PV without actually appearing in it, and have a member of the opposite sex who coincidentally is a child to mime the vocal...
maybe she just couldnt be bothered to film the PV or something, then when she found out people wanted her to make a cameo in it she did it to repay her fans for the support or something.
but in a way its good because it kind of shows a lack of vanity... dunno if im making sense-

i hope it isnt a ballad song... the majority of [RAINBOW] was ballads, plus she just released the [A BALLADS] album so a heavy tune would go down better i reckon :p
