Eurovision '06

Eurovision Song Contest

18th and 20th May, is anyone going to watch?

Finland is crazy this year: so freaky and attention-grabbing that there's a chance we won't end up in the bottom five (as has been our tradition).

This blog in Athens has a lot of stuff about rehearsals and such. I wonder if they'll post during the actual performances?

The UK wont win if they keep picking such bad songs! ..
i mean, look at the charts. Germany's entry is #1 in Germany .. The Swedish songs (including the ones they dont choose) do so well .. the list goes on.

and our entry is #13! How can we expect people to vote for us when we dont even seem to like it that much here!?

I got the Eurovision CD today so I'm gonna pick my favourites before the night though i think they will all lose in the Semi final tonight

the UK entry is oh so terrible i can't believe it. The singer thinks it's a masterpiece, but there's something wrong about a someone who looks middle aged rapping about school o.O. I generally have a good laugh at eurovision, but it's always interesting to see if there's someone good on there.

Oh, the semifinals are tonight. ^__^ I'm from Finland, and I'm interested in seeing how Lordi does. I think some people have made too big deal of it. But Finland has never done good, this time we are at least NOTICED! XD I'm not a fan or Lordi, but I think it was a good choise, since it's so different. It might do well this time.

I haven't heard the other songs so I can't say anything about them or the other countries.

Terry Wogan is the master of eurovision, it wouldn't be the same without him.

As always, the portuguese entry is so horrible the I feel shamed >_< Since 2002 we don't have a decent song for the Eurovision...

I won't be watching XD

Edit: And now my sis made me watch the portuguese song. They couldn't even get decent clothes >_< and their singing is awful today XD

YES! Lordi made it to the finals!

I just love "Hard Rock Hallelujah". Not because they're from Finland but just because they rock! I think Lordi was a perfect choice from us Finns. At last something DIFFERENT to these boring Eurovisions...

It doesn't really interest me because whoever decided who was going to represent us this year made a weak choice, because the singer isn't exactly the best act we have here. Whatever song it is, it's most likely going to be a boring performance. I'm not even sure if we made it in, probably haven't. We used to have a competition where the public voted for people to represent us, although some of the choices were good, but the songs picked were horrendous (why the hell pick a sugary-message song written by someone in Westlife as a potential winner??? I'm glad it wasn't used). My god, I've just found out that the song we have is a ballad, another sugary-message song... I knew it would most likely be a ballad, but my god the title is awful.

LORDI totally blew me away! I even woted for them!! They were SO COOL!!

I enjoyed Iceland's performance - really funny and well-thought

Kete Ryan was best vocally

And Poland... they were better than i expected them to be... but... why were the stupid green-haired weirdo exposing the preignant belly of his lover? That was... not good...

Overall - I think it's great that LORDI made it to the finals. I regret that Kate Ryan and Iceland's performer didn't make it!

Yay for LORDI <3
