Singer-songwriter Onitsuka Chihiro (26) is coming back after an absence of more than two years. She plans to release a new single at the beginning of summer, to be followed up by her first original album with Universal Music. Her 11th single, and to date her only release with the label, was in October 2004. She has been on hiatus since failing to renew her management contract with Sony Music Artists the following January. She was the victim of a stalker in July of 2005. It wasn't until a magazine article in September 2006 that she gave any indication that she was still writing songs. Her latest recording is being produced by the renowned Kobayashi Takeshi (47), best known for his work with Mr. Children and married to My Little Lover vocalist Akko. February 21, 2007

Singer-songwriter Onitsuka Chihiro (26) is coming back to the stage after a long rest. It is known in 20th Feb that she will release a new single in the coming summer and restart her music career.

According to Universal Music, she has written more than 10 songs, and she started recording since last spring. Inside there is a song showing stong emphasis on "I am still alive". [Note: It is in response to "I am dying" in Sodatsu zassou.] She is going to release a new single in the beginning of summer, following with a scheduled release of an album. Kobayashi Takeshi (47) is responsible for the production.

The last original song for Onitsuka is "Sodatsu Zassou" in Oct 2004. Her music career once stopped in Jan 2005, when her management contract was terminated by Sony Music Artists.
