Remixing Ayu - doing it personally?

OK, I am really into most of the remixes of Ayu - recently they're starting to play som of her songs in Clubs in Denmark now which is really cool.

A friend a I were thinking about trying to remix some of her newer songs, because - well, they're not remixed.

I know alot of people (atleast some) have been doing it, so I want to know if it's possible for one who hasn't done it ever before...
Like, what programs do I need and such - just a little help to get started;
So we can spread out the words of Ayu even more - in a dance dance dance version too ;P
