I'm sorry I just think this statement is BS.

Maybe were you live it's like that but generalizing every American is like saying every British person carries an umbrella and shouts "Bloody Hell!". Lol.
I think the reason why an Asian hasn't really made it over here is because you never really see very many in the media. Asian's haven't contributed to the music scene and brought a new sound. The Hispanics brought their own flavor to the table, Europeans have, as well as Blacks. But Asians haven't really done that. Maybe in their native country or in underground circles, but as far as reaching the U.S. mainstream audience they haven't done anything. Look at Kung-fu/Martial-Arts, Anime, and Asian Movies/Foods. It's so famous and well known because it was brought into the mainstream instead of staying in the darkness. I think if more Asians came out into the wood's and got with a record company that wasn't scared to promote them I think we would have
been had a huge Asian singer. Record companies are scared because it's like venturing into the unknown. And we know how huge record companies are about taking risk's. They don't like doing that, lol.
But as for this deal with BoA? Meh. Her music is really not that good to tell you the truth. To me she kind of has a mediocre/manufactored sound. Not trying to hate but that's just how I view her rmusic. But hey, if she actually pulls through and releases a full English album, I guarantee she'll have better promotion than Hikki, and it could sell well and she'll be known as the first mainstream Asian artist. In one hand I think it'll flop, but in the other as I look at the crap that's hitting it big over here now she'll probably have a good chance if she's promoted good.
You think that's just Asians? Lol, every ethnicity has a sterotype. I don't think that garners towards their never being a mainstream popular artist. But that's just my opinion anyway...
