Well... everyone grows older... even Ayu and her fanbase (considering Best Artist graph, her fanbase is mainly men and women between 20 and 50 years). On western countries, right now on pop music we have lots os female singers proving that women can be interesting, beautiful sucessful and even sexy even if they are over 30, 40 or 60... Madonna, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Cher, Tina Turner, Mariah Carrey, Whtiney Houston, Barbra Straisand... they are far older than Ayu, and still, they can oversell and overperform most of younger pop performers...
IMO it's nice that Ayu and Namie are changing their images into something more mature, cuz in japanese culture, a woman is already seen as too old over 25, 30 years...
