Do you like The Carpenters?

Aside from being a true blue fan of Ayu, im also a fan of legendary group The Carpenters.

The band is consisted of two siblings: Richard Carpenter (Back-up vocals, arrangements) and Karen Carpenter (Main vocals and drums)

They started on Ticket to Ride cover (Original by The Beatles) but it wasn't successful and gained a-little attention.

Not until they release We've Only Just Begun that gained a success not only in USA but in the whole world. And it is considered as one of iconic songs in the 70s.

(They Long to Be) Close to You is their first #1 hit in U.S Billboard charts.


During late 70s, their popularity drop drastically.
There are lots of issues of each siblings during that time like Richard's drug rehab issue and Karen's eating disorder (Anorexia Nervosa).


And the sad part of this.. is that Karen died untimely in 1982 due to heart failure connected to her eating disorder.

Like Ayu, The Carpenters has this kind of uniqueness that I've really admired.

The angelic and perfectly pitched vocals of Karen and great arrangement and musicality of Richard.

I really love their music like We've Only Just Begun, All You Get From Love Is A Love Song, Happy, You, and Yesterday Once More.
