Question Tibetan wail / Aboriginal singing

Does anyone know anything about the Tibetan wail that alan does in her singing? If that's even what it's called. I read an article where she mentioned that it came naturally to her, and it's unique to her culture. I've tried researching about it, but there's not much I can find in English. I read about Tibetan throat singing, but it isn't the same thing. I've also heard a wail or type of aboriginal singing similar to hers in Chinese... I think.

The thing is, I can hit the high notes that she does when she wails in her songs, but my voice sounds off majority of the time. The few times that I sound okay, I have to start off with the note instead of shifting to it. Is there a certain technique to this type of singing?

I know there are people who dislike her high notes, but I love this type of singing, and would like to know more about it. Any help is appreciated guys. Hopefully this isn't too confusing.
