Your favorite Ayu lyrics?
Since these "favorite"-threads seem to be so hot stuff right now, I thought I'd join the party too.
![]() So, please tell us which Ayu songs have your favorite lyrics! Comments on them are appreciated, but you won't have to write five paragraphs about why you love certain lyrics. ![]() Memorial address - One of her saddest lyrics. I've heard it's written to her father while she was angry, but reading the translation, I think the song tells about death. Death-lyrics or not, I'll burst to tears every time I make the mistake of reading the translation (especially if I'm listening to it at the same time). A Song for XX - I love these lyrics for their honesty. She seems to bring out her frustration, anger and confusion so naturally here. Beautiful lyrics. M - I love the lyrics in their entirety, but especially two parts seem really, really meaningful to me. Those would be: ""Maria" There is someone I should love; every person who has ever been hurt..." and "Beginnings come at random, but endings always have a reason." SURREAL - Like with M, I also have a favorite cut from SURREAL. The lyrics are great overall, but these words I especially love. The "I want you to be yourself" -message is lovely. "In a surreal place I stand as I am. Please be yourself. That's how I want you to be." untitled ~for her~ - I didn't care about this song at all until I heard the story behind it and read the lyrics. Once again, tearjerking stuff. Beautiful, that's all I can say. (If only someone wrote a song like this for me after I die... ![]() Real me - These lyrics are quite fun. Especially the English parts. The feminist message is also appreciated. everywhere nowhere - These are more thoughtful lyrics than the sound of the song might make one think. I utterly love the "freedom is complicated stuff people" -message of this song. winding road - Oh yes I still love the song everyone else seems to hate! The lyrics are as beautiful as the song itself, I love the bird comparisions and the seemingly newfound confidence the lyrics seem to tell about. fairyland - Ahhhh nostalgia don't we all love it? At least I do. ![]() FRIEND II - These lyrics have made me tear up. I love how honestly Ayu sings about her insecurities and how the message seems se hopeful and bittersweetly hopeful at the same time. My favorite part is the chorus: "I made you wait a long time. You continued to believe in me without even knowing when I'd return, even when morning came. I'm sorry for not feeling your pain." I'm sure this is a situation many have encountered: being too blinded by your own difficulties to see the pain of others. Ayu seems to be apologising about doing that to her great friend. Beautiful. (I use that word way too much) HEAVEN - Another set of beautiful lyrics that can make you tear up even without the support of the song itself. Simply lovely. POWDER SNOW - A strong contender for the title of her most depressing lyrics. I love them. These are the ones I can recall at the moment. So, which are yours? ![]() Last edited by Kacku; 28th August 2010 at 07:02 PM. |
