source: http://hk.news.yahoo.com/050202/197/195b6.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [VERY ROUGH TRANSLATION] Lately, lots of negative news about Ayumi being dethroned and stuff. But the start of 2005 has brought waves of good news for Ayu. Starting off her Arena Tour tickets being sold like hot fire and being the #1 spot in the history of Japan music history. A Japanese TV station <TBS> got the results from a survey and Ayu was throned as #1, beating down Utada and Namie, winning the throne to this title. Within the top 10, lots of competition is involved and each of their singing skills are pitched against one another. Namie <2nd place>, Utada <6th place>, Ai <5th place>. Ayu won mainly because of the support from teenage girls. The new singer, Tia, got 3rd place on the rankings. Then it talks about Ayu Arena Tour 2005 with the image mainly surrounding the SM feel, with a total of 9 different costumes. All 26 shows with 240,000 tickets all sold out. Rumors about Ayu being less popular automatically get trashed as these are solid evidence that support her popularity still remains. Utada, on Feb 23, will hold a Showcase Concert in New York, with a lucky draw that will bring a few fans overseas to see her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- heh .. although this is from a HK tabloid, which usually speaks bad about Ayu and tends to be less reliable. I must post this when I saw it. Congrats Ayu!!! ![]() Last edited by ayu_ayu301; 3rd February 2005 at 04:01 AM. |
