In recent news, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi and its real-life Japanese rock star counterparts will be featured at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade; not only helping celebrate the history and culture of the west, but also delivering some quality entertainment to the fans of the show and the band. While partnered with other licensors and product developers, Cartoon Network's entry for the Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature a massive float that features both the animated and real-life versions of Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura. Partnering with a couple giant-sized, puppet versions from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Ami and Yumi will also be performing live for all of those with access to viewing the parade--some expected 50 million viewers.

The float itself, designed by those at the Macy's Parade Studio, is modeled after the cartoon's decked-out tour bus. Those characters on the bus will include a life-sized puppet of the lovable, however stingy band manager Kaz as well as a couple bobble-head editions of the pet cats from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi as well (Jeng Kan and Tekirai). As far as the real Ami and Yumi go, the two are scheduled to perform as the float continues through Manhattan, delighting the approximated 2.5 million people who line the streets of New York annually and the 50 million individuals interested in the parade, watching it on television. The two rock musicians will also perform a 90-second song in front of Macy's -- Herald Square, the World's Largest Store, at the heart and center of the Parade.
