CORE OF SOUL to disband (March 24)

CORE OF SOUL has stated on their official website the band will officially disband on March 24, after the last part of their Asian tour. Their last performance will be in the band's hometown of Osaka. Since their debut in 2001, the band has made some great songs for their fans. We wish them luck in the future!

From Staff, Fukko, Song Rui & Keisuke:

Thank you for supporting COS. COS has decided to break up after the final performance in Osaka on March 24th. Since our debut on May 16, 2001, there were a lot of meetings through our musical activity. We're thankful from the bottom of our heart that we could keep our music activities until now, supported by your smiles and cheers.
All the members & staff COS couldn't have existed until today without your support. We would like to keep living on the happiness we shared with you.
We would like a lot of people to listen to ONE LOVE, ONE LIFE, ONE DAY, and we'll work on the tour to give you our best effort and music.
The tour will be in 3 cities outside of Japan, people might come from far away, but we'd be so happy if you could make it to our concert.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our heart for supporting COS for five years.

From Fukko: (sorry my friend didn't translate the whole thing... But then as it got emotional and cute she started translating everything again... )

We always could make it because it was the three of us. During five years, we were sometimes lost, but we could make it up altogether.
It took us one year to think about ONE LOVE.
It took us 2 years to think about ONE DAY, then the last year it was all about ONE LIFE, which made me reflect on my own life.
I want to make this tour unforgivable, to make all of you smile, and if you wonder if I will smile sincerly, I'd answer that I'll smile heartily!
I will keep my activities as a singer and musician.
With Love.

From Song Rui:

We talked about COS after completing this album. We're satisfied with what it became, but if we want to improve, we thought we'd have to go our separate ways to grow mature musically and technically. The three of us came to conclusion that now is the good time for a new beginning.
Through COS, I've met so many people, and been moved by so many things, THAT was our motivation to make our music. Our music became suche a treasure, by sharing our works with you.
We still have the Best Of, the DVD and the tour. I'd like to do my best to bring the music to your hears and to your sight, and I'd like to create happy times filled with music with you all.
With my best thankfulness and respect to the passion you gave to COS. Keep on Rocking Forever!

message from Keisuke:

I'd like to thank each of you for supporting us for five years. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It took three years to complete the album 3. Last year (Dec. 2005), when we completed the album ONE LOVE, ONE DAY, ONE LIFE, I thought we came to a completion of COS. Today, each of us has grown up as an artist and as a person, and we've improved. That's what I thought.
For me it is more like a graduation (he uses the term sotsugyio) than a break up. The three of us still have the passion to keep going on with music. As a band, we're breaking up, but it doesn't mean that the three of us are not going to make music anymore altogether. If fate allows it. I am looking forward to this time and I think that music is an energy that can overcome time, generations and borders.
I'm so proud that we could meet you through this music. Thank you very much!
Yoroshiku.
Seriously..where are all these great acoustic/pop/rock sounding bands going? There aren't many left at all..COS was easily my favorite band, and they will be missed terribly. I wonder who will be the next to follow in their footsteps.
