Japanese Society of Rights of Authors and Composers Karaoke Ranking

The Japanese Society of Rights of Authors and Composers (JASRAC) announced the ranking of the songs for 2002 based of the rental fees collected from karaoke, CD, etc. in 2002 fiscal year.

1) Spirited Away BGM (By Joe Hisaishi
2) Hikaru Utada's "traveling"
3) Hitomi Shimatani's "Amairo no Kami no Otome"
4) Ayumi Hamasaki's "Dearest"
5) Hikaru Utada's "DISTANCE."

According to the report from JASRAC, up to the end of March this year, the total amount of the rental fee for one year is about 106,060 million yen. It increased 0.7% since last year.

There was also some sort of "interactive distribution" (I'm not exactly sure what this is). The interactive distribution top was Hikaru Utada's "SAKURA DOROPPUSU."
