So then I wonder, what about cell phones with camera capiblities because I've seen concerts in Japan where instead of using flickering on lighters and waving them in the air, they do it with their cell phones!

^Yeah, when I went to Ayu's concert, I was sitting in my seat before the show even started checking the time on my cellphone, and a gaurd came by and was like "turn that off and put it away please".

I wanted to bring my camera to take pictures outside of the performance, but will they search me once I'm inside?

I was just thinking about this...not fair I thought that people were allowed to bring in cameras but I also found it strange that no one had cameras at Ayu's concert - now I know

^That seems unfair - it's not like Ayu's gonna come out after the concert to wave or sign autographs for the fans...how else can you take a pic of Ayu?

Maybe Japan and its citizens are much better at following rules than others. I mean you're there to watch the concert not to pirate some video off of it. I wouldn't be trying to capture pictures or what not. I mean it just detracts from the overall feel of being at the concert and participating in it since you're so concentrated on getting whatever you want for future reference. I really don't see the problem in it.

Yes, they will. But even if they find your camera, it's not a big deal. What happens is they will confiscate your camera and give you a slip to come and pick your camera up at the end of the show - you won't lose your camera.

Did it happends to you? Because I want to bring my cam to the AT2007, to take a pic of the stands that are selling goods (and taking pics of the fans, of course!).

I brought my small Lumix FX01 to Yoyogi Stadium last year, I even took pictures and captured video inside the arena. Just be careful so that the guards don't see you when you're inside or you might loose your camera, at least your memory stick, for real, or get thrown out.

They only checked people who were carrying bags, I slipped the camera into the inner pocket of my jacket.

its wierd bcos in greek concerts the singer will actualy let you on stage to get photo with them or dance with them hehe so its complete opposite, but when i went to (miss)UNDERSTOOD tour 2006, i went with my friend and we took photo of eachother in the arena and guard ran over to us and pushed our camera's down - and told us to stop. They didnt kick us out, but yeah - was wierd.

I dun think its disrespectful to the artist but i think its bcos people are stupid and put the flash on and it ruints the concentration of artist and also the video of it

When the concert was over in the recent arena tour, I snapped a pic of the stage. Sure enough, the guards quickly told me to stop. I didn't even attempt to take any during the concert, I was too busy enjoying myself. But I thought when the concert was over it wouldn't be such a big deal...

i brought my camera inside the HK COLISEUM last april..
and took a lot of pics, but then i got caught by the guard.. and i was escorted out of the Coliseum and asked you to delete every concert-related pics and your camera wasnot allowed to get in there anymore..

and because of that, i missed the "appears" performance

but when, i was in Jay Zhou's concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium, i took bunch of pics of his performances and the guards or the coordinators didn't catch me or warn me..

Oh my god, so you weren't allowed in after that? That means you missed the entire last half of the concert too!

edit: oh wait, nevermind, I (miss)understood your post x.x
