[Charts+sales] A BEST 2 -- THREAD II

let's use A BEST sales as an example.. about 4.3 million copies sold in Japan and 5 million copies worldwide... that means only 0.7 mil copies being sold outside japan. Remind that the cd sales were still quite good during 2001..

now back to 2007.. i dun really think A BEST 2 would be sold over 0.8 mil copies outside Japan rite at this moment... it would be lucky if 200K being sold in asia during these two weeks..

I don't think that was ever numerically proven.

but u need to realize that back then when a best was released, she didnt have as much fan in asia compared to now.. a lot of people outside japan only started to listen to her after teh release of a best (u can search for some threads here that prove that)..n i know that if ayu were to hold an asia tour back then, i doubt that the tickets would be selling as hot as it has now.. so yea, i think her oversea's sales contribute a lot! like it matters

One of their songs from their latest 'HOME' album is pretty good. It's called 'Shirushi'.

Back in the old days ayu + hikki were really popular in chinese places. I remember that when A BEST was release, arond 0.4 to 0.5 million copies were sold in Taiwan after 2 to 3 months, and the battles between hikki and ayu created lots of fights in those chinese forums/newsgroups. In 2002, when ayu visited HK it created quite a chaos in traffic. Therefore, we can't underestimate ayu's power back in the old days .
